For 2016, a total of 20 Provincial and City Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholars in Calabarzon are competing for the Search for the 2015 Regional Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar award. This award is given to BNS who have shown excellent performance in delivering basic nutrition services to his or her assigned area. Last year’s Regional Ootstanding BNS, Regina T. Celso is from Pansol, Calamba City. She was awarded 1st runner up in the Search for the 2014 National Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar during the National Nutrition Awarding Ceremony on 29 October 2015.

The award not only serves as recognition of the excellent performance of our nutrition workers in promoting proper nutrition but also our way of giving thanks to their undying support to the implementation of the country’s nutrition program. The awardees serve as inspiration to fellow BNS to strive harder and never back down because combating malnutrition is still one of the major problems in the country.
