Twenty eight (28) participants completed the 4-day 2016 Nutrition Program Management (NPM) Training ” of National Nutrition Council (NNC) last August 9 to 12 at the Makati Palace Hotel in Makati City. The participants (composed of NNC Calabarzon Region’s Nutrition Action Officers, District/City Nutrition Program Coordinators, members of the Nutrition Evaluation Team and Nutrition Staff) are also the new set of Nutrition Program Managers.
NNC Calabarzon is hoping that the new set of Nutrition Program Managers will be strong allies in formulating and implementing more effective nutrition programs to help alleviate food and nutrition security problems in the region and in the country.

Every year, NNC conducts the NPM Training to equip participants with the knowledge and skills on planning and implementation of nutrition programs through several discussions and group activities on nutrition, roles of nutrition program managers and nutrition program management. In effect, they were able to generate a re-entry plan for their respective local government units. These plans will now serve as basis for the nutrition planning for the succeeding year.
The facilitators who imparted their knowledge and expertise regarding nutrition program management are Mr. Julius Carmelo Parcarey, District Nutrition Program Coordinator of Quezon Province; Ms. Milagros Flavier, Health Education and Promotion Officers II of Quezon Province and Ms. Clara Vergara, Municipal Nutrition Action of Calaca, Batangas.
