One-on-one meetings with the local chief executives (LCEs) of the expansion areas of F1K Program in Quezon Province had been done during the 2nd quarter of 2017. With this, all expansion areas – Burdeos, Buenavista, Calauag, Infanta, and Pagbilao – are now set to adopt and implement the program in their respective areas.
The one-on-one meetings aim to discuss the F1K Program Document and Implementing Guidelines to the LCEs of the F1K areas to orient them about the program and discuss their roles and responsibilities as the main implementing arm of the program. All areas wholeheartedly accepted the program and are now waiting for the next steps.
After conducting the one-on-one meetings, these LGUs are expected to pass a Sangguniang Bayan Resolution allowing their mayors to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) adopting the F1K Program in their areas. The tripartite MOA will be signed by the LGU, the provincial government, and the National Nutrition Council (NNC). Once signed and approve, funds for all the F1K activities will be downloaded to the respective LGUs.
One-on-one meeting with the LCEs are part of the social preparation activities of the F1K Program. After this, Municipal Advocacy Fora will be conducted in each area to orient other stakeholders about the program. Highlight of the Advocacy For a will be the signing of the MoA by the mayor.
Pilot areas of F1K Program in Quezon Province, including Lucena City, Alabat, Polillo, Candelaria, Sariaya, Mulanay, San Francisco, and Lopez, had finished conducting social preparation activities in 2016. Funds have been downloaded to these areas and are now implementing the program in their respective areas.
F1K Program is a national program that integrates all necessary services in health, nutrition, education, and social services to be delivered during the first 1000 days of life, from pregnancy up to 23 months of young children, to ensure growth and full development of potentials of the current and future generations.
