With the specific activities and provisions discussed, it was agreed that Q1K Program will not provide the areas of F1K Program inputs for home food production since it will be provided by the F1K Program. Another meeting will also be conducted once modules for nutrition education classes, and mothers’ classes of F1K Program are available to determine the specific topics that the F1K will cover since Q1K also conducts classes for their beneficiaries. It was also clarified that Q1K Program will only catch those pregnant women in their 1st trimester at the start of the program while F1K Program will catch all pregnant and lactating women, and families of 0-23 months old children.

The provincial government will be implementing the Q1K Program in all the cities and municipalities of the province this year. While F1K Program Areas include pilot areas of Lucena City, Alabat, Polillo, Candelaria, Sariaya, Mulanay, San Francisco and Lopez, and expansion areas of Burdeos, Buenavista, Calauag, Infanta, and Pagbilao. Both F1K Program of the National Nutrition Council and the Q1K Program of the provincial government of Quezon Province aims to provide services in the continuum of care during the first 1000 days of life, from the pregnancy of the mother up to the 23rd month of the baby to ensure growth and full development of potential of the baby.
