QUEZON CITY, Nov. 22-- The National Nutrition Council (NNC) CaLaBaRZon, in partnership with the Regional Sub-Committee on Nutrition, conducted the Joint Meeting of the Regional Sub-Committee on Nutrition (RSCN), Regional Nutrition Cluster (RNC) and Regional Bantay Asin Task Force (RBATF) series 2019 at the Microtel Inn & Suites, Acropolis, Quezon City.

Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator (RNPC) Carina Z. Santiago presided the meeting. Two (2) resolutions were presented and approved, (1) RSCN-SCSD Resolution No. 1, Series 2019 “Enjoining the Local Government Units in CaLaBaRZon to Support the Implementation of RA 11148 or the First 1000 Days Law” and (2) RSCN-SCSD Resolution No. 2, Series 2019 “Adopting the National Nutrition Council Policy on Fad Diets”.

Updates on LGU Mobilization, the almost final draft of the CaLaBaRZon Nutrition in Emergencies Plan 2020-2023 and the Guidelines on the Local Level Salt Iodization Program Monitoring were also presented to the members.

The meeting was attended by the RSCN, RNC and RBATF members including Ms. Gualberta C. Florendo of Regional Rural Improvement Club of the Philippines (RRICP), Ms. Precilla Escalante of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) IV-A, Ms. Ma. Filipina M. Lagmao of National Food Authority (NFA) IV-A, Ms. Joyce Ann Ruth A. Gomez of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) IV-A, Ms. Marilou B. Mosqueda of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) IV-A, Ms. Diane Z. Ulan of Department of Science and Technology (DOST) IV-A, Ms. Nicole Ann M. Gomez of Department of Agriculture (DA) IV-A, Mr. Michael Lavadia of National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) IV-A, and Ms. Janice D. Guinaat of Kabisig ng Kalahi.
