MALVAR, Batangas, Nov. 28-- The National Nutrition Council (NNC) Calabarzon and the Department of Health (DOH) Calabarzon together with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) conducted the roll out Training on Nutrition Cluster Information Management (IM) for Local Government Units (LGU) to the top disaster-prone provinces, cities and municipalities in Calabarzon.

The four (4) module training aimed to build the capacities of provincial and city/municipal nutrition cluster members on nutrition information management. The participants, which includes Nutrition Action Officers, District/City Nutrition Program Coordinators, Health Emergency Management staffs, Nutritionist-Dietitians and Nutrition staffs, were able to familiarize and use the six (6) different information management tools for nutrition planning, program implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of IM activities thru sample scenarios, demonstrations and hands-on exercises. On the last day, all the participants were asked to do a return demonstration of the 6 tools.

Information Management is the development and implementation of a systematic approach to identifying, collecting, storing, analyzing, presenting, and sharing data for specific management and decision-making support in humanitarian response.
