Quezon City, December 16 – Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla extended her appreciation and acknowledged the challenge   of continuously executing and performing their best efforts in addressing the problem of malnutrition after receiving   two major awards from NNC Calabarzon during the 2020 Calabarzon Virtual Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony on 10 December 2020.

Ms. Kristine Joy Fedilo, Nutrition Officer I of NNC Calabarzon   personally handed the plaque of award to Mayor Revilla last December 14 during the Flag Raising Ceremony at the Bacoor Government Center Strike Gymnasium.

The first award, the “Best Social Media Account for Nutrition in the Region” (with Facebook Page titled CSWD-Nutrition) highlights the City Nutrition Committee and Cluster’s   dedicated promotion of good nutrition and health through actively posting informative, highly relevant, and engaging nutrition and nutrition related articles and activities.

The CSWD-Nutrition FB also significantly supports the socio-civic, health and nutrition activities of the city. As a result, they have achieved the highest number of Reach on Facebook Page under the City Category. It also got the highest number of likes or 773 page likes and 153,664 “Lifetime Post Total Reach”.

The second award, the “Outstanding Response During the Taal Volcano Eruption,” geared towards the rehabilitation of affected individuals and the most vulnerable groups in the city, demonstrated the exemplary performance of the City Nutrition Cluster in efficiently   providing the “Minimum Service Package in Nutrition in Emergencies” during the unanticipated Taal volcano eruption this January 2020.

With this inspiring achievement in the LGU-City level in Bacoor, more City Nutrition Committee and Clusters will follow and lead and be hopeful contenders for the next regional awarding ceremony.
