There were 17 agencies who recently participated in the review of the 2019-2020 RPAN accomplishments of the CaLaBaRZon Regional Action Nutrition Plan of Action for Nutrition (RPAN).
The status of each output and activity per program were presented to the Regional Technical Working Group (RTWG) on Nutrition for validation and updating during the second Regional Technical Working Group (RTWG) and Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) Meeting cum PPAN Program Implementation Review (PIR), series 2021.
.
DOH, DILG, DSWD, NEDA, DOST, PIA, DOLE, DepEd, DENR, TESDA, NCIP, DA, DTI, BFAR, IIRR, UPLB-BIDANI, and RRICP were the agencies represented during the PIR.
The RTWG also identified the measures to be taken on the unaccomplished targets in the 2 previous years. It has been agreed to continue the unaccomplished projects in 2021 and 2022. This includes the Strengthening of Health Delivery System for First 1000 days which will be established in the 2021 PIR of RA 11148; Mobilization of barangay officials to organize/re-orient IYCF support groups; and Provision of Technical Assistance on the Establishment of Mother-Baby Friendly Space and activation of Breastfeeding Support Groups.
Replanning was also conducted to accomplish some of the activities in 2022. The group approved to include the awarding of best performers of the School-based Supplementary Feeding of DepEd in the 2022 Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony. Criteria for judging will be drafted this year during the RTWG meetings. Another project that will be pushed through next year is the Advocacy on Caloric Equivalent of Fast Foods.
Reviewing of accomplishments was conducted this year to monitor the success of the RPAN. This will be the guide of the implementers on what actions to be done in the next implementation years to achieve the objectives of the plan. The achievement of its goal depends on the accomplishment of every commitment of the agencies. Every year of successful implementation will bring the region towards a better nutrition condition.
