Padamihin ang pondo!” was the direction set for the FBNS, Inc. for 2013 by the regional BNS federation officers and board of directors during their 1st Quarter Meeting and Team Building on 22-23 February 2013 at the Tesoro’s Farm and Resort in Bay, Laguna.

FBNS, IV-A President, Ms. Karen Ballonado led the Officers and Board in crafting the plans of the Federation for 2013 which included the recruitment of more members to be able to increase their funds for the conduct of their planned activities and work program. Other plans of the Federation include the following: the reorganization and strengthening of the provincial/city BNS associations; fund raising through direct solicitation to their respective LGUs; capacity building for the officers and board members on basic computer skills, proposal making, leadership training and proper bookkeeping and; Lakbay-aral to the 2011 National Outstanding BNS.

One other major highlight of the said meeting was the discussion on the 1st Regional BNS Congress which was finally approved to be conducted on October 18, 2013 at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City. The identified activities for the said event include the mass oathtaking of provincial/city association officers, presentation of the Federation By-laws and Plans for 2013, and group presentations among selected provincial/city associations. They have also agreed to invite Assistant Secretary Maria-Bernardita T. Flores as their Keynote Speaker.

The group was also fortunate to have been visited by Congressman Angelo Palmones during the said meeting, along with Dr. Ephraim Rubiano and Dr. Florentino Tesoro of Agham Party List. Cong. Palmones committed to provide support to the Federation through the provision of 200 units of Salter weighing scales, 100 units of Sphygmomanometer or blood pressure (BP) apparatus, among others. Cong. Palmones expressed his untiring support for the BNSs and wished the group a fruitful year ahead.

FBNS IV-A Inc. also had the chance to bond and get to know each other better through various team building exercises facilitated by the NNC IV-A staff headed by RNPC Carina Z. Santiago. The group was given exercises to know more of their selves, their relationship to other people, reaching out to others, the value of open communication and how to make their teamwork work. During the Closing Program, all the Officers and Board of Directors were very thankful of the great experience they had during the team building particularly in making them a new and better person - renewed, and more committed to work for the success of the Federation.

Next step for the FBNS IV-A Inc. would be a tedious planning and preparation for the big event on October - the 1st ever Regional BNS Congress in Calabarzon as well as the passage of resolution for the amended by-laws and application for opening of pass book account for the federation.
