The panel and class team of the Development Academy of the Philippines’ (DAP) Public Management Development Program (PMDP) Middle Managers Class (MMC) Batch 24 recently applauded the online presentation given by Ms. Lourdes Bulante-Orongan on the results of the implementation of the Capstone Project (CP).
Ms. Orongan is NNC staff and scholar of the DAP PMDP MMC Batch 24. Her CP is entitled “The Establishment of Nutrition Protocol and Delivery of Essential Nutrition Service Package in the New Normal for Wasted and Stunted Children Under-Five in Paliparan Site Resettlement Community.”
The panelists in the presentation were DAP Program Representative Ms. Ma. Rosario Ablan; Faculty Adviser, Dr. Milflor Gonzales; and Institutional Partner and RNPC Carina Santiago.
The Capstone Project is a development management project and an integrating activity of all the PMDP learnings. It is also the final requirement of the scholar to acquire the Master’s Degree in Development Management.
The presentation last January 11 aims to determine the impact of Ms. Orongan’s three-month implementation of the CP. They are: 1) the capacitated resettlement community leaders and nutrition volunteers on nutrition program management; 2) the formulated and funded 2022 BNAP; 3) the organized Barangay Nutrition Committee and Nutrition Cluster (supported with a resolution); 4) the rehabilitated nutrition status of wasted and underweight children under-five and NAR pregnant women; 5) the established community vegetable garden by the project beneficiaries; and 6) the complete documentation report of the activities implemented relative to DOH DO 2020-0237.
The CP will be further presented to the Regional Sub-Committee on Nutrition (RSCN) to seek recommendation and endorsement to the Sectoral Committee on Social Development (SCSD) of the Regional Development Council (RDC) Calabarzon – and for possible adoption of LGUs with resettlement communities in the region.
Ms. Orongan is the sixth scholar of NNC who had completed her CP implementation. Hopefully the CP will contribute to the achievement of its organizational outcome of ensuring an improved access to quality nutrition and nutrition sensitive services to achieve the defined nutrition targets in the PPAN 2017-2022.
