26 January 2022 – In being true to its commitment of strengthening the competencies of various nutrition stakeholders through public education, capacity building and skills development -- NNC Calabarzon recently provided online technical assistance to the seven Barangay Nutrition Scholars of the Municipality of Rizal, Laguna.
The mandatory “Basic Course Training” was planned and conducted by the Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) of Rizal and Mr. Maku Almario (Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (MNAO) of Rizal) as early as January. It was successfully facilitated by Mr. Edward Paglinawan ( NO II) and Mr. Darrenz William Mateos (NO I).

In addition, the technical support will improve the nutrition situation of the LGU’s preschool children, pregnant and lactating women given the right nutrition information that will be disseminated and that will build the BNSs confidence in delivering the PPAN programs.
The selected resource persons from NNC successfully tackled the topics on Module 1: the “ BNS program” or PD 1569; the roles, and functions of the BNS; and the knowledge, skills and core values of BNSs.
