The National Nutrition Council Regional Office 4 conducted its Joint Regional Program Implementation Review on Program Management Systems last 15-17 February 2012 at Pagsanjan Falls Lodge, Pagsanjan, Laguna. The said program implementation review was attended by members of Regional Technical Working Group (RTWG), Provincial Nutrition Action Officers (PNAO), City Nutrition Action Officers (CNAO), Municipal Nutrition Action Officers (MNAO), Nutritionist-Dietitians (ND) and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) from CALABARZON and MIMAROPA regions.
The three-day seminar workshop was composed of six technical sessions and two workshops. Included in the technical sessions are: 1) Reviewing the performance status of the Council; 2) Integrated Action for Hunger Alleviation and Improved Nutrition in Covergence Areas (HAIN) Overwiew; 3) Feedbacking and Action Lines 4) Updates on the Revised Operation Timbang (OPT) Guidelines/Form (including Height/Length Measurements); 5) Documenting Good Practices; and 6) Program Directions. Workshops dealt on: 1) Strategic Planning; and 2) Next Steps/Action Planning.
Participating Nutrition Action Afficers (NAOs) from CALABARZON and MIMAROPA regions were divided by provincial cluster areas during the workshop sessions. For CALABARZON, Group 1 was composed of NAOs from Cavite, Cavite City, Tagaytay City, Trece Martires City and Dasmariñas City; Group 2 was comprised of NAOs from Laguna, Calamba City, Sta. Rosa City, Biñan City and San Pablo City; Group 3 was constituted by NAOs of Batangas, Batangas City, Lipa City and Tanauan City; while NAOs of Rizal and Antipolo City; and Quezon, Tayabas City and Lucena City belonged to Groups 4 and 5 respectively. Groups from MIMAROPA region was composed of, Group 1 (Oriental Mindoro and Calapan City); Group 2 (Palawan and Puerto Princesa City); and Group 3 (Occidental Mindoro, Romblon and Romblon). After each workshop, NAOs from chosen groups were asked to share their outputs. The output of the first workshop is a report on the set of immediate actions for nutrition improvement and a list of policy and program recommendations, while the output for the second workshop is the action plan of the province/city.

Blanco, OIC-RNPC, NNC 4 (Technical Sessions III and VI), Ms. Hygeia Ceres Catalina B. Gawe, OIC of Nutrition Surveillance Division, NNC Central Office (Technical Session IV) and Ms. Cynthia M. Del Rio, ND IV, DOH-Center for Health Development IV-B (Technical Session V).
During the closing ceremony, Ms. Marietta G. Dogelio, City Nutrition Program Coordinator of Tagaytay City and Ms. Eleanor M. Maduro, Nutrition Officer III (NO III) and District Nutrition Program Coordinator (DNPC) of Romblon shared their insights, impressions and experiences in the seminar-workshop. The event was formally closed by Dr. Gloria J. Balboa, MPH, MHA, CEO VI, CESO III, OIC of DOH-Center for Health Development Region IV-B.
