The “First Nutrition Action Officers’ Association of the Philippines (NAOPA) General Assembly” was successfully completed last January 24 and was spearheaded by NNC Calabarzon together with NAOPA Calabarzon Chapter President, PNAO Teresita S. Ramos.

The general assembly was attended by a total of 100 participants composed of Provincial, City and Municipal NAOs and the NNC Secretariat, via zoom.

The highlight of the meeting was the election of the new set of officers who will assume their positions from 2023-2025. Although the oath-taking is yet to be scheduled, it was agreed that a meeting of the outgoing and the incoming officers will be required for the turnover of financial and other related documents and for the planning for NAOPA – Calabarzon’s activities.

Other highlights include the nutrition updates by NNC on the new Guidelines for formulating the Local Nutrition Action Plan (LNAP); sharing of the national results of the 2022 eOPT Plus; reports on the status of the LGU Mobilization Activities in the region; the 2022 BNS Financial Assistance; matters concerning the 2023 Nutrition Month Celebration;  and other NNC upcoming activities for 2023.

In addition, there were also updates on the schedule of visits by the Interagency Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET)  for the 2023 MELLPI Pro for LGUs and LNFPs specifically. It was agreed that the 2023 MELLPI Pro will be conducted from  March to June, with the RNET Deliberation scheduled in late June, and the Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony in July -- as a culmination activity for the  Nutrition Month celebration. Thus, LGUs were requested to conduct MELLPI as early as possible.

Lastly, the LGUs with pending 2022 report submissions were requested to complete their submissions to be sent to NNC4A  on or not later than  January 31,  2023.
