Keep up the good work!” These are the words of NPC Dr. Mission during the 2022 program implementation review held on 09 January 2023 at the Golden Valley Hotel, Cebu City as she applauded the team for its excellent performance for the year under review.

Aside from the successful implementation of nutrition programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) planned for the year, the team was also able to fully utilize and liquidate the 2022 budget allocation for the regional office. Dr. Mission also expressed her gratitude to the members of the regional staff – both administrative and technical staff for all their efforts and hard work in making sure that the region’s targets are accomplished.

The endeavors had resulted to the reduction of underweight and overweight statistics in Central Visayas. “We are very happy that NNC 7 was able to live by its mandate as the highest policy making and coordinating body on nutrition in the region as shown in both physical and financial accomplishments. I am glad that we made such a good team and took the agency to another level! Without your support, NNC 7 could not have gone that extra mile”, she added.

Among the big tickets PPAs in the 2022 allocation that were efficaciously executed included the 2023 local planning workshop for the provinces of Bohol Cebu, Negros Oriental and Siquijor, the region’s social and behavior change communication, region-led training for nutriskwela community radio network program, region-initiated LGU mobilization activities, 48th nutrition month celebration and 2022 regional nutrition awarding ceremony, and 2022 MELLPI Pro, among others.

NNC 7 is looking forward to another year of productive program performance this 2023, as its amazing team braces itself to new PPAs that address food insecurity and the nutritional needs of the population using the life cycle approach contained in the successor Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition 2023-2028.
