CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, (PIA) – Former rebels under the custody of 5th Infantry Battalion can now utilize the livelihood kits recently turned over by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
In an awarding ceremony, DTI Isabela Provincial Director Winston Singun said the livelihood kits awarded to the former rebels is part of the department’s Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginwaha (PPG) program which aims to provide support to individuals and micro-enterprises affected by man-made and natural calamities, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
Singun said that a total of P150,000 worth of livelihood kits were already given in the form of sari-sari store business kits, gardening and farming kits composed of tools, implements and fertilizers, poultry kits composed of feeds and housing and mushroom spawns for their mushroom production.
Aside from the livelihood kits, Singun said that they have also assisted in the packaging of their business plan that was submitted to the labor department to support their request for financial assistance for the establishment of their poultry project.
“DTI is offering its programs and services to FRs in support to President Rodrigo Duterte’s Executive Order No. 70 or the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict,” Singun said.

CABARROGUIS, Quirino,PIA)— In support to the Plant, Plant, Plant Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA), the provincial government through the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO) distributed various kinds of vegetable seeds and seedlings to households with malnourished children, pregnant women, employees and farmers.
Plant, Plant, Plant Program aims to provide sustainable food production, accessible and affordable foods for every Filipino people through the “Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat Laban sa Covid-19 “ or “ALPAS Covid-19.”
Provincial Agriculturist Florence Mangoba said a total of 180,863 seedlings were produced and 169,227 of these were already distributed as of December 11, 2020.

CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA--------The National Nutrition Council-Cagayan Valley and Balay ni IFAN Media Grouo will release the 14th issue of the InFormation About Nutrition (IFAN) magazine which highlights the region’s nutrition efforts amid the widespread of Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19).
With the continuous success of its annual issue of the IFAN magazine released semestrally the NNC-R02 deemed it proper to continue with its publication. Considering also the wide acceptance of IFAN among the reading public, it had served as a very effective and efficient mode of delivering nutrition information in all corners of the region.
The 14th issue now focuses on the nutrition efforts of all Local Government Units, Regional Line Agencies and other nutrition stakeholders to continue in the delivery of nutrition interventions and other strategies even on during the widespread of COVID-19 in the region.
According to NPC Maria Gisela Lonzaga of NNC-R02 and Editor-in-chief of the IFAN magazine, the 14th release is to inform the public that nutrition program and services is very vital especially during the Covid 19 pandemic.
“This issue of the magazine centers on the courageousness of health and nutrition volunteers like the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs) in the delivery of basic health and nutrition services to the community in these trying times. Despite the health risks covid 19 posts, the BNSs perform their duties and responsibilities with passion and enthusiasm worthy of recognition in this IFAN magazine.,” Lonzaga added.

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan,(PIA) - - The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region 2, in partnership with the Informers Club Media Association, Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) and the Northern Luzon Command, reached out to 55 Agta families at barangays Bicud and Logac in Lal-lo town yesterday.
Angely Mercado, officer-in-charge of PIA Region 2, said the relief distribution cum Christmas gift-giving was intended for the Indigenous People's communities who were also affected by the pandemic and the series of weather disturbances in the province.
Mercado said each family received relief packs composed of three kilos rice, canned goods, noodles, soap and used clothes from the Presidential Communications Operations Office through PIA, a pail of hygiene kits from OCD, additional food packs, kitchen utensils and used clothes from Sgt. Lowela Alibania of NOLCOM and Bombo Radyo-Tuguegarao.
“The I-Club sponsored the simple snacks for all the beneficiaries while PIA Region 2 and DWPE Radyo Pilipinas gave cash gifts, toys and tote bags full of goodies for Agta-children,” Mercado added.

CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA--------Inspired by the recorded all time low violation report this 2020, the MBATF Sta. Praxedes, Cagayan and Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya vowed to have a stronger and stricter MBATF Checkpoint in 2021 as shared during the last quarter RBATF Meeting.
The COVID-19 pandemic did not hinder the efforts of Municipal Bantay Asin Checkpoint in Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya and Santa Praxedes, Cagayan as they recorded an all-time low violation report. In the annual report of Regional Bantay Asin Task Force Meeting, it was reported that out of the 726,184 kilograms of salt tested throughout the year only 280 kilograms were inadequately iodized in Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya while out of 26, 741 kilograms inspected in Santa Praxedes, Cagayan a total of 12, 741kgs were inadequately iodized.
Manning the checkpoint, 24/7 in Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya, Mr. Orlando Pichay, was very happy and inspired to share to the group the commitment of every member of the MBATF..
“This result will ensure the stronger and stricter and even more committed members of the checkpoint, this is a manifestation that we are on the track of ensuring that only adequately iodized salt will be present in the region,” he happily shared.
“This can be also attributed to the unending support of LGU Santa Fe and NNC Region 02 in provision of manpower, technical assistance and PPEs to our checkpoint officers on duty,” he added.

National Nutrition Council Region 02 (NNC R02) conductedits 2020 Team building which focusedon the realization of NNC core values – Integrity, Zeal, Excellence, Sensitivity and Transparency (I-ZEST), through personality development and strengthening teamwork on December 23, 2020 at Hotel Roma,Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
The primary objective of the teambuilding isto instill the NNC core values among staff to achieve the goal of the organization harmoniously. The teambuilding activity also aims to ensure personality development, improve working relationships among themselves and enhance the positive team culture of respect, trust, support, and open communication.
During the technical session, Mr. EdzellArcinue, Nutrition Officer III of NNC R02, discussed and reminded the staff on the importance of the NNC Core Values and teamwork to achieve the goals and objectives of NNC R02.
Further, Ms. Maria Rachel Miguel, Assistant Professor IV of Cagayan State University- Carig Campus, shared her expertise about personality development in the workplace.
