City of Ilagan, Isabela-------- The National Nutrition Council Region II conducted an online monitoring of Radyo Kayvayvanan last 23 February 2022 to assess the needs, effectiveness and reached of the radio station.

The effects of previous typhoons were still felt in the radio station at the same time the effect of pandemic wherein NNC R02 cannot personally visit the radio station to assist in the technical needs on programming.

With the new station manager and active program manager, Mr. Raymond De Guzman, who accompanied the NNC staff during the online monitoring, shared all the problems encountered by the station.

City of Ilagan, Isabela – Adapting to the new normal, and to assess achievement of program objectives, NNC R02 conducted quarterly monitoring on Radyo Kalugaran last 23 February 2022. This is to monitor and ensure the maintenance of equipment used and provide needed technical assistance to further improve the features and functions of the programs.

During the online monitoring of the Radyo Kalugaran, it was found out that the 300 watts transmitter is defective and currently using 100 watts transmitter with lesser reached.

The station manager and radio personnel were able to provide updates on the status of equipment being used and shared the challenges they encountered. Each station representative shared his/her success stories and appreciated the relevance of the roles they play  in the operations of the station especially in these trying times on being the source of news and information by the public.

The National Nutrition Council (NNC) Region 02 in coordination with Cagayan Provincial Nutrition Committee represented by DNPC Marcia Ibañez accompanied by Piat Municipal Nutrition Committee represented by Ma. Teresa Oñate, Municipal Nutrition Action Officer conducted Tutok Kainan Monitoring visits to beneficiaries of program in their locality.

The team interviewed barangay nutrition scholars, beneficiaries and other key implementer of the program to monitor the progress. Areas checked were preparation of food, impact to beneficiaries, issues, concerns and challenges were also discussed and shared by the municipality.

CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA----- The Balay ni IFAN Media Group held its 1st Quarter Virtual meeting via Zoom last 21 February and discussed its accomplishments, 2022 plans and activities, and NNC  R02 programs, projects, and activities for 2022.

On behalf of the Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator - NNC R02 Ms. Maria Gisela Lonzaga who attended an equally important matter, Mr. Edzell Arcinue, Nutrition Officer III, delivered the opening remarks and acknowledged the continuous efforts of the Balay ni IFAN Media group in the dissemination of nutrition and health-related information.

“The strong and committed Balay ni IFAN Media Group members gave an advantage to NNC R02 in disseminating nutrition and nutrition related information to the general public.” NO III Arcinue shared.

Cauayan City

CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA------The National Nutrition Council (NNC) Region 02 in coordination with Isabela Provincial Nutrition Committee represented by PNAO Henedina Cabrera accompanied by Cauayan City Nutrition Committee represented by CNPC Mary Jane Yadao conducted Tutok Kainan Monitoring visits to beneficiaries of program in their locality.

The team interviewed barangay nutrition scholars, beneficiaries and other key implementer of the program to monitor the progress. Areas checked were preparation of food, impact to beneficiaries, issues, concerns and challenges were also discussed and shared by the municipality.

The BNSs shared that the implementation of the program was smooth in their respective barangays. The Barangay Nutrition Committees were also supportive in the implementation and provided counterparts such as vehicle service, and cooking equipment and gas. However, some BNSs cooked and prepared meals in their homes. They were also grateful for the load allowance given by NNC. The beneficiaries were also grateful for the program. They commended the menu selection and the commitments of the barangay workers who prepared and delivered their meals. They also lauded the taste and how dense the enhanced nutribun were. Feedback on iron-fortified rice was  just as the same with other municipalities, it is just the same in terms of aroma, taste and texture as normal rice. All beneficiaries gained weight and all babies delivered has normal birth weight.
