In the recent election, many new officials were installed in government offices. Since the Philippines is currently experiencing a triple burden of malnutrition, we need to scale up nutrition interventions that will help improve our nutrition situation. One way to advocate nutrition is by engaging with our Local Chief Executives. NNC9 Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Nimfa D. Ekong made a courtesy visit to the different newly-elected officials (NEO) in Zamboanga Peninsula. The engagement intends to advocate a strengthened nutrition program in the province with the establishment of a separate nutrition office with hired full-time staff. One of the most common causes of low back and neck pain is degenerative disc degeneration. The term degenerative suggests that symptoms will worsen with age. However, the term does not refer to the symptoms, but describes the process of the disc degenerating over time. Painful disc degeneration is commonly in the neck (cervical spine) and lower back (lumbar spine). These areas of the spine undergo the most motion and stress, and are most prone to disc degeneration.

While many children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) do not show symptoms in infancy, there is good evidence that some symptoms are present even before their first birthday. Other symptoms may appear before the age of two. Although these behaviors are not necessarily indicative of autism, they may help parents and caregivers receive early diagnosis and treatment. This is important for the child's overall development and function.
