Family PlanningAugust is recognized and celebrated as National Family Planning Month in order to raise public awareness of the importance of FP in supporting the general health and well-being of the population. Family planning (FP), as defined by the Department of Health (DOH), is "having the desired number of children and when you want to have them by using safe and effective modern methods" In the Philippines, through widespread access to high-quality family planning information and services, Filipino women and men can have as many children as they choose and satisfy their legal obligations on reproductive health and rights.

Pagadian NMOn July 29, 2022, the City of Pagadian, spearheaded by the City Mayor, Hon. Samuel S. Co, successfully held its 48th Nutrition Month Culmination at Plaza Luz, Covered Court. The activity was attended by the City Administrator and Nutrition Action Officer, Engr. Vince Quipot, Development Management Officer II of NNC, Ms. Marie-Claire A. Gaas, City Nutrition Program Coordinators, and no less than forty-one (41) Barangay Nutrition Scholars. This activity aims to better equip the capabilities of BNS as barangay-based volunteer workers by explaining the legal mandate and rationale of the BNS program and providing a refresher course on how to conduct the Operation Timbang Plus or OPT.

And it was developed as a business strategy to serve a huge number of harried wage employees, travelers, and commuters. Fast food lovers are drawn to their favorite restaurants by the colorful menus and flyers, and also because of the yumminess and extreme convenience of the cuisines. Similarly, increased consumption of fast food is on the rise, which is attributed to factors like high wealth, fast urbanization, free home deliveries, enticing commercials, and multinational cuisines.

GutalacThis year's Nutrition Month celebration with the theme “New Normal sa Nutrisyon, sama-samang gawan ng solusyon!” calls for strengthened nutrition interventions and solidarity towards nutrition improvement as the country shifts towards living with the COVID-19 virus. To conclude its 48th Nutrition Month campaign in the municipality, the Local Government of Gutalac, Zamboanga del Norte successfully held its Culminating Activity last July 26, 2022. The event aims to promote good nutrition as part of pandemic resilience strategies and to expand multi-sectoral engagement to scale up nutrition interventions in the municipality.

DumingagOn July 27, 2022, the Municipality of Dumingag, spearheaded by the newly-elected Municipal Mayor, Hon. Gerry T. Paglinawan, in partnership with NNC9 and the Provincial Nutrition Office of Zamboanga del Sur successfully held the Capacity Enhancement Training for BNS and BHW Chairman with no more than one hundred ten (110) participants from forty-four (44) barangays. This activity aims to better equip the capabilities of the barangay-based volunteer workers in a sustainable manner to improve their competence and skills in delivering nutrition and health-related services in their respective barangays.

MBFHThe first week of August is observed as "Mother and Baby Friendly Hospital Week" in the Philippines every year. This activity is covered by Proclamation No. 14, issued in 1992 by the late President Fidel V. Ramos. This is to request that MOTHER AND BABY-FRIENDLY HOSPITALS receive national recognition.

The Republic Act No. 7600, also known as the Rooming-In and Breastfeeding Act of 1992, and Executive Order No. 51, also known as "The National Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes, Breastmilk Supplements, and Related Products," are hereby ordered to be fully implemented and strictly enforced by the Department of Health and all other government departments, agencies, and instrumentalities.
