EndometriosisEndometriosis is derived from the word "endometrium," which refers to the tissue that lines the uterus, according to John Hopkins Medicine. Endometriosis patients have endometrial-like tissue outside of the uterus. Endometriosis affects 2 to 10% of women in the United States between the ages of 25 and 40. In addition, women with endometriosis are more likely to experience infertility or difficulty conceiving. The Mayo Clinic also describes endometriosis as an often-painful disorder in which tissue similar to the tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus — the endometrium — grows outside your uterus.  This condition affects the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and pelvic tissue. Endometrial-like tissue can occasionally be discovered outside of the pelvic organs.

chronic fatigueMayo Clinic defines chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), also known as myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) or systemic exertion intolerance disease (SEID), as a complicated disorder characterized by extreme fatigue lasting at least six months and not fully explained by an underlying medical condition. The fatigue is exacerbated by physical or mental activity and does not improve with rest. This symptom is called post-exertional malaise (PEM) according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Other symptoms include difficulty thinking and concentrating, as well as pain and dizziness. According to an Institute of Medicine (IOM) report, ME/CFS affects between 836,000 and 2.5 million Americans. The majority of them, however, have not been diagnosed.
