Image Digos City BIDA Launch13 November 2020, Davao City -- The City Government of Digos, Davao del Sur launched the BIDA Solusyon sa COVID-19 campaign + BIDA Bastonero/Bastonera at Rizal Park, Davao City. The activity was graced by Dr. Annabelle P. Yumang, Regional Director of the Department of Health Davao Center for Health Development, Digos City Mayor Joseph Fortich Cagas and Vice Mayor Johari Baña and was attended by Provincial DOH Representatives, barangay leaders and hired Contact Tracers.

Regional Director Dr. Annabelle P. Yumang applauded the LGUs initiative to halt the transmission of COVID-19, “Daku kaayo ang role sa mga Barangay Leaders sa pag hunong aning COVID-19 tungod kay kamo ang adunay influence dinha sa inyung mga lugar” as she expressed. She emphasized that by simply identifying BIDA Bastoner/a in every household, everyone will be reminded to strictly follow the 4 behaviours to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. D-Distansya ug usa ka metro

A- Aksyon base sa tamang impormasyon.

City Mayor Joseph Cagas also re-iterated through this campaign that we can win this Fight as we adopt this B-I-D-A behavior.

Vice Mayor Johari Baña initiated the Pledge of commitment.

BIDA Solusyon campaign aims to change the behavior of the public towards the prevention of COVID-19. This is also the benchmark in establishing BIDA Bastonero/a in the City of Digos.

Present during the very first flag raising ceremony held in the community were LTC Rolly Figueroa CE (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of 534ECB, together with the staff members, officers, and NCOs, Security Team from 60IB, and DSWD and Kalahi-CIDSS CLL representatives. This was followed by a simple turn-over ceremony which was graced by the tribal leaders and residents of Sitio Banualay.

image Bongabong Agrarian Reform receives award

Bongabong Agrarian Reform Cooperative (BARC) of Bongabong, Pantukan Davao de Oro, a DAR-assisted cooperative was awarded the 2020 Gawad Parangal Award by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region XI and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), last 27 October.

This award is given to selected cooperatives in Davao Region who had exemplified selfless dedication and hard work in extending help to the community during these trying times of national health emergency due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Davao City HallThe Davao City government will extend financial help to areas devastated by Typhoon Rolly in Luzon.

During the 19th City Council’s Special Session on 06 November, local lawmakers has authorized Mayor Sara Duterte to utilize a portion of the Davao City Government’s Disaster Risk Reduction Management Fund (Calamity Fund) for Calendar Year 2020, in the amount of P7.5 million pesos, as financial assistance to LGUs which were declared under a State of Calamity.

The P7.5 million will be divided among seven (7) provinces and one city hit by Typhoon Quinta and Rolly, namely, Province of Oriental Mindoro, Batangas, Albay, Camarines Sur, Marinduque, Cavite and Catanduanes, and Batangas City.

Image article on ambulance received by davao cityThe Davao City government has received 16 ambulance units from the Department of Health (DOH) under its health facilities enhancement program. City Health Officer Dr. Josephine Villafuerte said the new units, which costs P2.3 million each, will be deployed to the city government’s health centers and clustered barangays in the second and third districts for emergency use and transport of patients.

“This is going to be a great help to the people of the barangay since they don’t have to wait for an ambulance to go up to the periphery. Pwede na sila ang magdala sa ilang mga pasyente ug magrefer diri sa atong mga hospitals or to the nearest facility (they can bring their patients and refer to our hospitals or the nearest facility), because they already have an active disaster response team,” Villafuerte said.

Image Braulo E Dujali articleBraulio E. Dujali, Davao del Norte underwent a two-day Pre-Implementation Workshop on Disaster Response Operations Procedure (DROP) conducted by DSWD Kalahi-CIDSS NCDDP last November 5-6, 2020.

The workshop was conducted as part of the steps in the implementation of the Disaster Response Operations Procedure (DROP), which is an alternative project of the Kalahi-CIDSS program to respond to the impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis in the region.

Present during the event were the Barangay Captains, Secretaries, Treasurers, BAC, and BSPMC Chairpersons of the barangays within B.E. Dujali in support of the program. The workshop was facilitated by representatives from Kalahi-CIDSS Region XI, MIAC, ACT, and MCT.
