Nutriskwela Community Radio Monitoring

March 24, 2022: Sibalom, Antique--- Ms. Sheryl Sedantes, Nutrition Officer III and Ms. Romela Dee Candoliza, Nutrition Officer I, conducted an on-site monitoring visit at Nutriskwela Community Radio Station in Sibalom, Antique. The said community radio station was established by the National Nutrition Council in collaboration with the Municipality of Sibalom in 2017 with the assistance and support of then-Mayor Joel Occena and MNAO Dr. Eleanor Jornada.

TK DSP Ceremonial Signing of MOU and MA Iloilo

NNC Region Office VI, facilitated the signing of amended MOU with CDA & DAR Region 6 and Marketing Agreements with the Guimbal Development Cooperative and Passi City Community and Employees Multi-purpose Cooperative for TKDSP Phase 3 on 16 March 2022 held at EON Centennial Resort Hotel and Waterpark, Alta Tierra Village, Jaro, Iloilo City.

RBATF Monitoring San Lorenzo Guimaras 03.30.22

On March 30, 2022, Members of the Regional Bantay Asin Task Force (RBATF) Region VI conducted salt monitoring visits in San Lorenzo, Guimaras. The activity aims to determine the iodine content of the collected salt samples from the salt manufacturers, producers, and distributors. The team interviewed respondents at the salt beds production area and San Lorenzo's mini-market where Asin (salt) was produced and sold. The salt samples gathered by the team will be subject to laboratory testing at the DOST Laboratory for testing and analysis.

TK DSP Phase 3 4

March 14, 2022: In preparation for the upcoming signing of Memorandum of Understanding with DAR and Marketing Agreements with ARBOs and MPCs for the implementation of the Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program Phases 3 and 4 which targets the 6-23 months old children in the region, the NNC Region VI conducted an online meeting together with the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Region VI, Provincial DAR Negros Occidental 1 and 2, representatives from the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP), identified Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) and Multi-purpose Cooperatives. 2022 Womens Month

In 1911, the first International Women’s Day was celebrated on 19 March participated by millions of men and women. However, a tragic incident led to the changing of this date. On 25 March, 1911, 140 working women died in a fire at the Triangle Shirtwaist factory in New York City. This brought to light the unfair labor practices and inhumane working conditions that women workers face and led to several rallies.

TK DSP Phase 4

March 10, 2022: As the Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program shifts the focus to the 6-23 months old children in the Region, NNC Region VI conducted an online Orientation to TKDSP Phase 4 project areas. The roles and functions of the TK focal persons, the proposed cycle menu, and other relevant concerns were also presented by PNFP Espanola during the orientation as part of the social preparation for the implementation of the program. The activity was attended by representatives from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in the Region and Province of Negros Occidental, identified Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organization (ARBO), and the eight target LGUs of Negros Occidental.
