August 8, 2022 - Day 1 of Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Pro in the City of Bago. The Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) led by the National Nutrition Council Region VI Staff Nutrition Officer III Sheryl Sedantes and Project Development Officer I Roselle Eve Ferrer together with Ms. Arni Sumaylo of Department of Agrarian Reform Region VI, Mr. Gretchen Jamorin of Commission on Population and Development VI, and Mr. Marianito Ramirez Jr. of UPV-BIDANI assessed the performances of the Local Nutrition Committee and Local Nutrition Focal Points. The team had a courtesy call to the City Nutrition Committee Chair / Mayor Hon. Nicholas M. Yulo before the proper desk review. Also present during the evaluation are CNAO Dr. Ferdinand Ramon Mayoga, CNPC Josephine Dela Chica, Nutrition Office staff, and the rest of the City Nutrition Committee (CNC) members.

The National Nutrition Council Region VI convened the Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) on 10 June 2022 at District 21 Hotel, Mandurriao, Iloilo City. The meeting aims to familiarize them with the updated Monitoring Evaluation of Local Level Plan of Implementation Protocol (MELLPI PRO) guidelines & tools and to set the MELLPI Pro schedules of the participating Local Government Units.

August 4, 2022 - Day 1 of Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Pro in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental. The Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) led by the National Nutrition Council Region VI Staff Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Reginaldo T. Guillen, Nutrition Officer III Sheryl Sedantes, and Project Development Officer I Roselle Eve Ferrer together with Ms. Rosellie Salcedo of Department of Public Works and Highways Region VI Region VI, Ms. Arni Sumaylo of Department of Agrarian Reform Region VI and Ms. Paula Huelar of Department of Science and Technology Region VI monitored and assessed the performances of the Local Nutrition Committee and Local Nutrition Focal Points. The team together with City Nutrition Action Officer Dr. Elizabeth Louise G. Junto, City Nutrition Program Coordinator Dennis Cabaylo, Medical Officer IV Dr. Abigail Loiuce R. Jaboneta, Medical Officer IV Dr. Angel Kates Lacson had a discussion of the rationale and processes of the activity.

The Local Nutrition Early Warning System - Food and Nutrition Security (LNEWS-FNS) Program is one of the activity and data sources of the Philippine Nutrition Surveillance System (PNSS) of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN). The said program aims to understand the causes and seasonality of malnutrition. It also enhances knowledge and skills in data collection, analysis and interpretation, and data utilization for nutrition program planning and decision-making. The said program was established in 4 areas in the region namely Bago City, La Ca Carlota City and Sagay City in Negros Occidental and Passi City in Iloilo.
