2nd CeVANAO Final

Dumaguete City - The Central Visayas Association of Nutrition Action Officers Inc. held its 2^nd quarter meeting on 10 June 2022. This was a back-to-back event with the 2^nd Regional Management Conference and 3^rd Nutrition Program Coordinators’ Association of Region VII, Inc. meeting. The activity was held at Southview Hotel, Barangay Banilad, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

mabinay

Mabinay, Negros Oriental – The Municipal Nutrition Committee of this “Cave capital of the Philippines” conducted a Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation Protocol (MELLPI Pro) Roll-out Training to the members of its technical working group. The activity was held on 18-19 May 2022 at the Mabinay Spring Resort Function Hall, Mabinay, Negros Oriental. The technical working group are composed of representatives of the MNC members. ND II Shaira Calumpang and ND II Raya Faith Luce facilitated the said capability building sessions.

Food security on the other hand, as defined by the Food and Agriculture Organization is when all people, at all times, have physical, social, and economic access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food that meets their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life.

Tanjay MELLPI

Tanjay City – The Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) as part of their activities during barangay visits also evaluates the skills of health and nutrition workers on weighing and height taking, assessing feeding gaps, and counseling abilities aside from looking into the documents of the Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC). RNET member ND II James Aaron Perez of DOH-NNC 7 together with Tanjay CNC Admin Mitch Capal during their evaluation in Barangay Sto Nino, a hinterland community of Tanjay City on 10 May 2022 also mentors Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs) Rezlen Alegarbes and Jenievib Tendencia based on the findings during the skill assessment.

LMET

Cebu City- In line with the Republic Act 10028, otherwise known as the Expanded Promotion of Breastfeeding Act, the Department of Health Central Visayas Center for Health and Development together with the DOH accredited hospital the St. Anthony Mother and Child Hospital (SAMCH) conducted a Lactation Management Education Training (LMET) on 23-25 May 2022.
