Lead is a naturally occurring toxic metal found in the earth’s crust. It exists all around us – in the air, soil, water, and even in our homes. It is an important element in the environment due to its physio-chemical properties. Important properties like softness, ductility, malleability, poor conductibility, and resistance to corrosion make it difficult to give up its use. Globally it is distributed abundantly, an important yet dangerous environmental chemical. Abundant and distributed globally but due to its non-biodegradable nature and its continued use of it, its concentration accumulates in the environment with increasing hazard to human health. Lead is a highly poisonous metal. It gets into your system through your bloodstream affecting almost every organ in the body. Of all organs, the nervous system is the most affected target in lead toxicity, both in children and adults. However, toxicity in children has a greater impact than in adults since children has softer tissues, internal as well as external than in adults, and they are still in their developing stage. Lead poisoning occurs when lead builds up in the body over a period of months or years which mainly result from inhalation and/or digestion of contaminated lead particles. Even small amounts of lead can still cause serious health problems. But where does can we get lead aside from it occurs naturally in the environment? People may acquire lead through exposure to lead-based paint, water pipes, imported canned goods where they use lead to seal food cans, pottery, lead bullets, storage batteries, cosmetics, art supplies, toys, in mining areas, burning fossil fuels and even the household dust. Lead poisoning causes a variety of symptoms, including memory problems; joint and muscle pain; high blood pressure; headaches; constipation; nausea and vomiting; weight loss; fatigue; kidney dysfunction; low IQ and behavioural problems which varies from person to person, while time of exposure plays an important role to it.

Rotavirus spreads easily among infants and young children. The virus can cause severe watery diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and abdominal pain. Children who get rotavirus disease can become dehydrated and may need to be hospitalized. Rotavirus (RV) diarrhea is one of the most common causes of childhood morbidity and mortality in the world. The World Health Organization has recommended RV vaccines’ use in national immunization programs since 2009. However, access to vaccines remains limited, particularly for most low and middle income countries where the burden of the disease is high. The Philippines is a lower middle income country in Asia where RV vaccination remains limited.

Many people believe that lemongrass tea has numerous health benefits, including bloating relief and infection prevention. According to Rachel Nall, researchers have not yet conducted enough large-scale studies to prove these benefits. Citronella, or lemongrass, is a tall, stalky plant. It has a fresh, lemony aroma and a citrus flavor, according to Annette McDermott. It's a common ingredient in Thai cooking and a natural insect repellent. Aromatherapy uses lemongrass essential oil to freshen the air, reduce stress, and lift the mood. Lemongrass is also used as a folk remedy to help with sleep, pain relief, and immunity. Lemongrass tea is one of the most popular ways to consume it.

Malignant melanoma is a type of skin cancer that begins in cells called melanocytes, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation. Although less common than basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), this skin cancer is more dangerous because it can spread to other organs more quickly if not treated early. The exact cause of all melanomas is unknown, according to the Mayo Clinic, but exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight or tanning lamps and beds increases your risk of developing melanoma. Limiting your exposure to UV radiation may help lower your risk of developing melanoma. Melanoma risk appears to be rising in people under the age of 40, particularly among women. Knowing the warning signs of skin cancer can aid in detecting and treating cancerous changes before they spread. Melanoma can be successfully treated if detected early.
