20 July 2022, Cagayan de Oro City – The National Nutrition Council X in coordination with the Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office of Lanao del Norte (DARPO LDN) convened for an orientation on Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program (TK DSP) and signing of the Marketing Agreement (MA) with the Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (ARBOs), held last 14 July 2022 at MCC Hotel, Tubod, Lanao del Norte.
NNC X under the direction of Nutrition Program Coordinator Gladys Mae S. Fernandez facilitated the gathering attended by more than 30 participants including all the involved Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officers (MARPOs) from the program’s target municipalities under Phases 3, 4 and 5. DARPO LDN’s OIC-Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II, Mr. Jalaini S. Mohamad delivered his welcome and opening remarks. He said, “this is the first time we've partnered with NNC for a feeding program, so to all ARBOs, as the supplier of food commodities for the beneficiaries of the program, we must deliver what is required to us”.
The participants, especially the ARBOs, were oriented on the Tutok Kainan program overview, components, target areas, social preparations and guidelines to equip and direct them throughout the implementation of the program as the supplier of food commodities for the program’s beneficiaries, 6-23 months old children and pregnant women.

6 July 2022, Cagayan de Oro City – The Regional Office X of National Nutrition Council (NNC) is now an accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provider. This, after its successful application for Certificate of Accreditation with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), through the guidance of NNC-Nutrition Information and Education Division. The said application was approved on 13 May 2022 and will expire on 12 May 2025.
Among NNC’s functions is conducting capacity building and other relevant activities that support the advancement of professionals, in this case, the local nutrition focal points (LNFPs). The office regularly conducts capacity building activities to help strengthen the capacities of LNFPs who are nutritionist-dietitians, physicians, nurses, midwives, and those from other fields of expertise. NNC Region X now applies for CPD Program Accreditation for its trainings, workshops, fora and seminars for 2022.
As of this writing, the two batches of Training on Idol ko si Nanay held in June 2022 were likewise approved for its application of CPD Program.
The Continuing Professional Development Act of 2016 or Republic Act 10912 promotes and upgrades the practice of professions in the country and to continuously improve the professional competence of PRC license holders. (NO III Sheena Marie G. Talle)

1 July 2022, Cagayan de Oro City – The National Nutrition Council (NNC) Region X partnered with the City Nutrition Committee (CNC) of Cagayan de Oro to launch the 48th Nutrition Month Campaign on 1 July 2022 at Divisoria, this city.
The kick-off activity, which is a first since the pandemic hit in 2020, was attended by more than 250 guests and participants. Members of the Regional Nutrition Committee (RNC) X, City Health Department Head Dr. Rachel D. Dilla, CNC members, Barangay officials, members of the Barangay Nutrition Committees (BNCs), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs), City Nutrition Office staff headed by Nutrition Action Officer Nenita F. Rabe, and NNC X staff attended the launching activity.
Highlighting the event is the annual ceremonial unveiling of the 2022 Nutrition Month theme and sharing of key messages of the celebration. Nutrition Program Coordinator Gladys Mae S. Fernandez of NNC X called all participants to be part of the solution to promote nutrition in the new normal. In her message, she urged all nutrition stakeholders to make informed choices on health and nutrition to improve resistance against illnesses, and to take better care of the nutritionally vulnerable groups.
This activity is just the first of many as all local government units, agencies, and other nutrition partners are moving in unison as One Region in Nutrition. As the tagline of NNC goes, “Nutrisyong sapat, para sa lahat”! especially in the new normal. (NO III Sheena Marie G. Talle)

4 July 2022, Cagayan de Oro City – A total of six (6) awards were given to the National Nutrition Council Region X during the awarding ceremonies for the 2022 1st Quarter Webby Awards; 2021 Annual and 3rd and 4th Quarter Q-Webby Awards held 30 June 2022 via Zoom.
The Q-Webby Awards is a quarterly recognition system of NNC Regional Offices’ (ROs) performance on social media engagement, based on critical performance indicators.
For CY 2021, the following were the Q-Webby awards received by NNC X:
- 2nd Runner-up for Highest Number of Articles Posted (3rd Quarter)
- Most Visited Webpage (3rd Quarter)
- 1st Runner-up for the Most Visited Webpage (4th Quarter)

28 June 2022, Cagayan de Oro City – The Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program (TK DSP) Phase II commenced last 2 May 2022. The eight (8) recipient Local Government Units (LGU) along with the nutrition staff facilitated the distribution of the Ready-to-Eat food commodities to the recipient barangays.
Prior to the start of Phase II implementation, series of social preparations were made. Namely, Orientation to the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) on the new Reporting System, finalization, completion, and validation of masterlists, storage inspection, and among others. In addition, a courtesy visit to Municipal Health Officers (MHO) were carried-out to dialogue on the assistance and counterparts that the LGUs can provide.

1 July 2022, Cagayan de Oro City – The Regional Development Council (RDC) X approved RDC X Resolution No. 32, series of 2022, last 24 June 2022 during its 130th Full Council Meeting to enjoin stakeholders in the entire region to support the 2022 Nutrition Month Campaign.
The annual issuance of a resolution by the RDC X is a manifestation of its constant commitment to support the region’s endeavors for nutrition. The resolution, entitled “Enjoining Regional Line Agencies, Local Government Units, State Universities and Colleges, Higher Education Institutions, and the Private Sector to Support the 2022 Nutrition Month Campaign in July and conduct related activities in coordination with the National Nutrition Council (NNC) Regional Office X”, was disseminated to the region’s stakeholders on 1 July 2022.
RLAs, LGUs, SUCs, HEIs and private sectors are guided through the resolution in identifying steps to strengthen the implementation of strategies that will put premium on nutrition, especially as the country gears towards the new normal.
The NNC X is thankful to the RDC X through Chairperson Governor Philip T. Tan of Misamis Occidental for directing all stakeholders to fulfill their contributions as One Region in Nutrition. (NO III Sheena Marie G. Talle)
