DAVAO CITY, February 04 – The Regional Bantay ASIN Task Force of Davao Region mobilized its members through a virtual meeting to formalize its organization with the review and approval of two draft policies: RNC Resolution No. 1 Series of 2021 Organizing the Regional Bantay ASIN Task Force (RBATF) and RBATF Resolution No. 1 Series of 2021 Resolution Enjoining All LGUs of Davao Region to organize a Local Bantay ASIN Task Force.
The virtual meeting was attended by representatives from Davao Regional offices of NEDA, DILG, DOLE, DepEd, DOST, DSWD, DTI, NCIP, POPCOM, National Commission of Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) and the University of Immaculate Concepcion.

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 682 issued on January 28, 1991, NNC-Davao is one with the nation in its observance of the Civil Registration Month this February. Through a letter received by NNC Davao on 02 February 2021, Philippine Statics Authority Regional Director Ruben D. Abaro said that this year’s theme is “Strengthening Civil Registration and Vital Statistics’ Digital Information: The Ways to Manage the New Normal” and requested for NNC-Davao’s support for this year’s celebration, beginning with the hanging of Civil Registration Month Streamer in front of the NNC-Davao Office for the entire month of February.
“Hanging of streamer in various offices of the government creates awareness on the importance of civil registration to the employees, as well as to our constituents”, the Director added.
In a press release by the Philippine Statistics Office, Undersecretary Dennis S. Mapa, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General said that “Given the new normal, our efforts in improving our civil registration services are geared towards making our processes more convenient and safer for our clients. We continuously explore new and innovative ways to bring our civil registration services and vital statistics more accessible to the public.”

DAVAO CITY, Dec. 14 – The Davao Regional Nutrition Committee, during its virtual meeting, approved with no comments, a total of six (6) Resolutions in support to the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition 2017-2022 and other national nutrition enabling laws, policies and programs.
Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Dr. Ma. Teresa L. Ungson presented the draft resolutions for comments and approval of the committee. She emphasized the importance of establishing supporting policies as basis for implementation of nutrition programs and activities, especially during the “new normal”.
“With the recent passage of nutrition enabling laws designed to target the most vulnerable group, there is a need to strengthen efforts and inject innovations at the regional and LGU levels to effectively address hunger and malnutrition, and these resolutions will serve as its precedent” Dr. Ungson added.

DAVAO CITY, 22 January 2021– Geared towards mitigating hunger and reducing poverty, the Department of Agriculture-XI (DA-XI) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Program with the National Irrigation Administration-Davao del Norte Irrigation Management Office and Davao del Norte Irrigators Marketing Cooperative.
Anchored on the EHPAHP Framework, the parties agreed to continually and jointly venture any Projects, Programs and Activities (PPA's) that would address and help farmers increase their production and income.
On the part of DA-XI, Regional Technical Director for Operations Marila Corpuz said that the agency will synchronize its programs and projects to take part and be part of the promotion of social welfare and betterment of the marginalized farmers.

Tuwing buwan ng Enero at Hulyo, ginugunita ang National Deworming Month. Mula sa pangunguna ng Department of Health, hinihikayat nito ang publiko na sumailalim sa deworming o pagpurga at mawala sa katawan ang mga parasites tulad ng bulate.
Likas na sa mga kabataan ang pagiging malikot nito sa kakalaro. Sa murang edad, puno ang isipan ng bawat bata sa kung ano ang ibig sabihin ng bawat bagay sa mundo. Mula sa mga bata na may edad lima pataas, dito na nagsisimulang malikot ang bawat kilos nito mula sa paggapang, paglalakad, paghawak ng anumang bagay, at maging ang pagsubo nito. Isa ito sa mga ikinababahala ng bawat magulang sa kanilang anak.
Hindi natin alam kung anong klaseng mikrobyo ang maaaring makuha ng bata mula sa mga bagay na hinahawakan nito kung hindi mahugasan kaagad. At kapag tuluyang dumapo sa bibig ng mga bata ang kanilang maduming kamay, maaaring magdulot ito ng pagkakaroon ng sakit tulad na lamang ng pagkakaroon ng bulate sa tiyan. Ikinababahala ito ng ilang eksperto dahil kapag hindi agad naagapan, maaaring makarating pa ito sa iba’t ibang parte ng katawan. Paano malalaman kung ang isang tao ay mayroong bulate sa tiyan? Ang pagsakit ng tiyan, pagsusuka, pagtatae, pagkakaroon ng dugo sa dumi, ay ilan sa mga sintomas. Narito ang ilan sa maaring epekto ng pagkakaroon ng bulate sa tiyan: Malnutrisyon, Anemia, panghihina, pagbara ng bituka, Meningitis (kapag napunta ang bulate sa utak), Pulmonya (kapag napunta ang bulate sa baga).
