From the moment of conception, a nutritious diet is critical to ensure that your baby is well-nourished. Learn which nutrients you require the most and where you can get them.

The Pinggang Pinoy, a healthy food plate for pregnant and lactating women, can be used to determine the proper food group proportions per meal to meet energy and nutrient requirements for a healthy pregnancy diet. Furthermore, pregnant women require an additional 300 calories every day. Few nutrients in a pregnant woman's diet, however, require special attention. The top of the list is as follows.

Spreading awareness of it is for sure one of the missions completed of being an advocate for curing with nutrition.

Cebu City – The National Nutrition Council Region VII (NNC7) worked full steam in 2021 and will go full throttle in 2022. This was the general findings and desire of the team as it started the year with a yearend program implementation review and planning activity for the year 2022 held on 10-11 January 2022. RNPC Dr.  Parolita A. Mission facilitated both activities. All technical and administrative staff actively participated in the assessment and planning exercise.

Consolacion, Cebu – Another year has passed since the pandemic started in 2020, and 2021 was solely focused on the vaccination drive for the population, but 2021 for sure was another fruitful year for the National Nutrition Council Region VII. With certainty 2021 was riddled with lots of challenges and came along were opportunities to grow and learn, and 2022 will be no different, and is just about to scratch the surface of bringing more exciting things to look forward.

Bohol, Philippines – The day before typhoon Odette made its landfall in the province, the Provincial Government of Bohol through the Provincial Health Office and the Bohol Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) Association held the 18th Annual Provincial BNS Summit on 15 December 2021 via Zoom and FB Livestream.

Negros Oriental - Malnutrition in children is a major problem our country is facing. According to UNICEF Philippines, “Every day, 95 children in the Philippines die from malnutrition. Twenty-seven out of 1,000 Filipino children do not get past their fifth birthday. A third of Filipino children are stunted, or short for their age. Stunting after 2 years of age can be permanent, irreversible and even fatal.”
