KORONADAL CITY - The Province of South Cotabato conducted the Provincial Nutrition Committee Meeting on Monday, December 6, 2021.
The meeting was held at the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office Conference Room, Koronadal City, South Cotabato, facilitated by South Cotabato District Nutrition Program Coordinators Angela Frugalidad, Earl Rey Madres, Liza Enamno, and Program Assistant Joy Quidilla. A total of 10 participants composed of representatives from different offices namely Social Welfare and Development Office (SWDO), Agri-Tech Office, Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), Statistics Office, Budget Office, Population Office and the National Nutrition Council (NNC) Region XII Provincial Nutrition Focal Point Kristine Charl B. Nadela attended the Provincial Nutrition Committee Meeting.

STO. NIÑO - The Province of South Cotabato conducted on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, the Nutrition Action Officers and Nutrition Implementers Meeting to provide updates on Nutrition Programs and related activities.
The meeting was held at Matinong Garden, Sto. Niño, South Cotabato, facilitated by South Cotabato District Nutrition Program Coordinators Angela Frugalidad, Earl Rey Madres,and Liza Enamno. A total of 23 participants composed of Municipal Nutrition Action Officers, Nutrition Coordinators, Nutrition Staff and DOH HRH Nutritionist-Dietitians, each representing the 11 local government units (LGUs) under the province, and National Nutrition Council (NNC) Region XII Nutrition Officer III Annalita Mae V. Flores and Provincial Nutrition Focal Point Kristine Charl B. Nadela attended the Nutrition Action Officers and Nutrition Implementers Meeting.

The Regional Bantay Asin Task Force (RBATF) XII will ramp up its planned activities particularly on monitoring the implementation of Republic Act (RA) 8172 also known as “An Act Promoting Salt Iodization Nationwide and for related purposes” or ASIN law. All food-grade salt for human and animal consumption is required to be iodized under the law. Moreover, the purpose of the monitoring activity is to assess the progress and the overall implementation of RA 8172 at the local level and to provide technical assistance to the City Bantay Asin Task Force (CBATF).

The National Nutrition Council XII under the leadership of Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator, Ms. Retsebeth M. Laquihon, officially launched the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement 3.0 held on November 18, 2021 via Zoom videoconference. The event marked an important milestone for NNC XII in its efforts to improve health and nutrition for the region’s constituents as well as in the fulfilment in bringing forward outstanding nutritional outcomes. A total of 58 participants attended the event composed of Local Nutrition Focal Points, Local Chief Executives, Non-government Agencies and joined by various representatives from the Business Network sectors, Civil Society Alliances, Developmental Partners and from the Academe.

In its aim to further transform Local Government Units in delivering nutritional outcomes, the Regional Mobilization Team continues to visit targeted areas for Local Nutrition Action Planning (LNAP) Workshop.
Last November 11-12, 2021, NO II Danah Pearl Aurel together with NO I Ruby Ann Laurito facilitated the LNAP Workshop in Banisilan, Cotabato attended by their Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, HRH-ND, Planning Officer, Budget Office and representatives from Agriculture Office and DepEd. The team had also an opportunity for a courtesy call with the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Jesus Alisasis.
