02032022 MIMAROPA LNEWS areas ready for PIR

The three (3) Local Nutrition Early Warning System for Food and Nutrition Security (LNEWS-FNS) areas in MIMAROPA Region – Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro; Coron, Palawan; and Narra, Palawan convened on 3 February 2022 via Zoom Application in preparation for the upcoming 2021 National Program Implementation Review (PIR).

LGUs were assisted in accomplishing the workshop output consisting of five (5) indicators: a) stability factors, b) food availability, c) household food access, d) community health status, and e) nutritional status of 0 to 59 months old children.

02042022 NNC MIMAROPA virtually monitors Radyo Kamalindig

NNC MIMAROPA virtually monitored the Nutriskwela Community Radio Station – Radyo Kamalindig in Buenavista, Marinduque on 4 February 2022. The monitoring team composed of Nutrition Officer II Bianca Estrella and Provincial Nutrition Focal Point Nichole Loyola were joined by Program Manager Ronaldo Banagan.

PM Banagan joyfully shares the success stories through the help of radio and the support they are receiving from the local government unit. They were also able to address some problems identified such as the electric power. According to him, the LGU is currently purchasing solar panels for their operation.

01252022 PROMO Meeting PROMO (Palawan, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Occidental Mindoro) Nutrition Communicators held its first meeting for 2022 this 24 January via Zoom. The meeting was presided by media group President Voltaire Dequina and attended by 9 officers and members.

Prior to the meeting proper, the group shared what they look forward to this 2022. Mostly, they hope for end of the pandemic and go back to normal to carry-out usual activities, good health, continued service delivery through communication, and more program advocacy and accomplishments.

01262022 Joint Meeting of Regional Assoc

The National Nutrition Council MIMAROPA, together with the Regional Associations — Nutrition Action Officer Association of the Philippines Inc. (NAOPA) - MIMAROPA, District/City Nutrition Program Coordinators Association of the Philippines Inc. (D/CNPCAP) - MIMAROPA, and Federation of Barangay Nutrition Scholars (FBNS) - MIMAROPA, held its first joint meeting last 26 January 2022 via Zoom.

Sa panahon ngayon na laganap ang iba’t ibang sakit, lubos na mahalaga ang pagkakaroon ng malakas na resistensya sapagkat ito ang pumoprotekta sa atin laban sa iba’t ibang mikrobyo at virus. Gaya nga ng isang kasabihan, “Prevention is better that cure". Higit na mahalaga ang pagkakaroon ng malakas na resistensya kaysa anumang gamot. Ngunit paano nga ba natin mapapalakas ang resistensya?
