As part of the Training and Development activity of National Nutrition Council – MIMAROPA, its technical staff participated on a one-day training for Digital Design and Social Media Strategy on 18 December 2020 via Zoom Application. It aimed to identify strategies in properly handling the social media page of the region and to improve skills of the staff in developing good social media content for its nutrition information dissemination in the digital context.
The training was divided into two sessions with Ms. Guia Peralta and Ms. Cyrille Lagamson as resource speakers. Ms. Peralta emphasized the considerations for the social strategy which includes attracting new people, battling fake news, compelling the audience to take actions, keeping the audience engaged and building trust. On the other hand, Ms. Lagamson discussed various design techniques and principles in creating an effective social media graphic materials.

The National Nutrition Council MIMAROPA posted the third of a three-part video series on 28 November 2020 via NNC MIMAROPA Facebook page which focused on Milk Code, risks of formula milk, ensuring adequate milk supply, donor human milk supply, donor human milk bank and the overview of the human milk banking system.
Guest resource person, Dr. Aurora Gloria I. Libadia, Clinical Associate Professor and Head, Lactation Unit and Human Milk Bank, University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital started the discussion by sharing the importance of the Milk Code and how to the human milk bank system works. National Nutrition Council – MIMAROPA and its local media partner, Palawan - Romblon - Oriental Mindoro - Marinduque - Occidental Mindoro Nutrition Communicators (PROMO Nutri Com), joined forces in developing the MIMAROPA Nutri-times 2020 issue, the official publication of nutrition news and happenings in the region.
The development of the regional publication was initiated during the planning workshop of PROMO Nutri Com held on November 2019 in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. It aimed to feature nutrition-related events from each provinces and cities and create awareness on the nutrition programs, projects, and activities available in the area.

Eggs are the most widely available source of cheap, quality protein. One reason why people prefer eating eggs is because it is easy to prepare and can be cooked in countless ways. Most people want their egg cooked as sunny side up, some preferred boiled, others choose scrambled. In the Philippines, it is usually served for breakfast along with fried rice, a classic combination known as “Silog” meals. Silog meals are partnered with different kinds of cooked meats, with pickled or fresh vegetables as side dishes.
