Consolacion, Cebu - The Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) of this town capacitated their BNS, Midwife, Nurses, Dentist, DTTB, HIV CHOW, and BHWs on Maternal, Infant and Young Child Feeding Nutrition (MIYCN). The training was conducted last 24-27 May 2022 at the 3rd Level, amphitheater of Consolacion. A total of 65 pax all in all who participated in the training.
Nutritionist Dietitian I Sheila Mae R. Awing from province and Nutritionist Dietitian II Geraldine Mae S. Pausanos from DOH-NNC 7 acted as resource person for the first 2 days of the training together with one of the Public Health Nurses of Consolacion Ms. Therese Anne S. Gelig who also discussed one of the modules and shared her personal experience to enhance learning of participants. Different activities such as demonstration, return demonstrations and role play were conducted. The attendees showed an active and engaging participation throughout the training.

Bais City, Negros Oriental – With the prediction that Typhoon Odette will hit parts of the Visayas including Bais City in Negros Oriental on 16 December 2021, the Bais City Incident Command System (ICS) was activated, and formed the response team, including the City Nutrition Cluster.
The Local Government Unit of Bais City, as a mitigating step towards Disaster Risk Reduction, has developed an Incident Command System (ICS) that aims to provide an organized and effective response during emergencies and disasters. It is composed of LGU department heads with their planning officers, members of the CDRRMO and the City Administrator. City Health Officer and City Nutrition Action Officer Dr. Corazon Cablao were designated as the incident commander.
