Cebu City - The National Nutrition Council Region VII conducted a writing workshop to sharpen the writing skills of its technical staff and the Human Resource for Health for Nutrition (HRH-N) under its wing. The writeshop dubbed “How to write an effective article” was held on 08 December 2021 at the Southview Hotel in Dumaguete City and was attended by twenty-nine participants. The activity was part of the capacity building activities organized by NNC 7 for its personnel.
Nutrition Officer II Ms. Norre Jean V. Delos Santos of NNC 7 was the main speaker and facilitator. She emphasized that “Writing articles brings out important and relevant topics to limelight like correcting the common belief that stunting is hereditary”. She added that other themes such as good nutrition projects, relevant policies approved and implemented in the different LGUs can also be featured in the article. The workshop covered topics on Appreciating Web Articles, News Article vs. Feature Story, Fundamentals of News Writing and Scaling-up Digital Presence. It was capped with an actual writeshop where each attendee was expected to produce either a news article, feature story or news feature. Best articles from the different categories were selected after the activity.
