The second and third wave of the Nutripasada organized by the National Nutrition Council-CAR in partnership with the CAR- Media Educators on Nutrition was conducted at Barangay Bantay of Paracelis, Mt. Province and Barangay Socbot of Pinukpuk, Kalinga on February 5 and 6, 2013 respectively.
In addition to the regular activities previously done, a Kiddie Nutri-Class was incorporated and undertaken simultaneously with the Nutripasada Program. Children of the invited families joined the nutrition education session and learned the importance of proper nutrition to achieve proper growth and development. This activity was facilitated by Ms. Bella Basalong, NO I of NNC-CAR.
Encouraging the children to eat vegetables was the highlight of the lecture since it is one of the feeding problems encountered among children. Actual vegetables were displayed for the children to have an actual experience on identifying vegetables including their nutrients like vitamins which is necessary for good health.
The fun learning on nutrition which the children had is only a way to inculcate good eating habits. Their immediate teachers, who are their parents, still play the biggest role in molding the children to effectively modify their behaviors to achieve good nutrition.
