Electronic Operation Timbang Plus Tools webpage.
National Nutrition Council just released the electronic Operation Timbang Plus (e-OPT) Tools for community level and large barangay consolidation. The tools can be accessed at NNC website through this link: https://nnc.gov.ph/opt2021.
The community level e-opt tool is used by nutrition workers in the community to help them record, interpret, and summarize results of the OPT Plus. On the other hand, the e-OPT tool for large barangays is designed for barangays with more than 1000 children (0-59 months old). It also used by nutrition workers in the community to consolidate and summarize OPT Plus results from different puroks, areas, blocks, or sub-divisions within the large barangay.
Several updates have been made in this 2021 version of the tool including the following:
- Auto-fill of population data in the Summary worksheet based on 2021 estimates obtained from the Department of Health – Epidemiology Bureau.
- A dropdown lists for province, municipality/city, and barangay names are available to facilitate filling-up of required information.
- The count of mothers/caregivers who have at least one child affected by undernutrition or overnutrition based on weight-for-age, height-for-age or weight-for-length/height have been included in the Summary sheet.
- A count of the number of children with weight but no height measurements has been included in the Summary.
- Additional columns have been added to highlight children 0-23 months old in the Summary table to show the total number and prevalence in each of the three nutrition status indices.
- A tally of children belonging to the Indigenous Peoples (IP) groups according to the nutritional status classification in each of the three indices has been added to the summary table.
Operation Timbang Plus is the annual weight and height measurement done in all barangays across the country to identify the nutritional status of 0-59 months old children. It is based on the Child Growth Standards (CGS), single international standard that represents the best physiologic growth for all children from birth to five years of age.
