Grasya ang KatugbangCebu City – The airing of the Grasya ang Katugbang, the Cebuano version of Katumbas ay Biyaya reproduced by NNC 7 in partnership with the Media Information Network for Nutrition and Development 7 (MIND 7), has been extended to four months following the renewal of its contract with DYHP-RMN 612 khz.

The program first went on air last July 19, 2009 and continued until 2012. In 2013, the program was aired on February 3. The contract renewal extends airing to June 9, 2013. The program features stories in Katumbas ay Biyaya Season 5 Episode 25 to 36 and Season 6 Episode 1 to 7.

The program is aired over radio DYHP – RMN 612 khz every Sunday at 12:30pm to 1:00pm. The 30-minute show features drama on issues like Congestive Health Failure, Hypertension, and Stroke. A discussion session follows the drama where a resource person talks about the topic prompted.

Broadcasters Month 2011 Nutri-Walk

- NNC 7 joined the Media Information Network for Nutrition and Development 7 (MIND 7) and Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Cebu Chapter in the Nutri-Walk to open the September Broadcasters Month celebration last September 4, 2011. The Nutri-Walk was organized by KBP Cebu Chapter thru MIND 7. The walkers who converged at Fuente Osmena passed the major thoroughfares of Cebu City. KBP expected around 500 broadcasters from print, radio and television to join the walk. The walk ended at the Cebu Technological University where a mass was held and a short program took place to kick off the Monthlong Celebration.

Billion Trees Program - Tree Planting Activity

 - NNC 7 staff participated in the Billion Trees Program: Tree Planting Activity organized by the ARENA 7. The activity was held on 03 September 2011 at Anislagan, Guadalupe, Carcar City. Led by NO II Dave Bargamento, NNC 7 team. composed of AA VI Eula Althea Mayol and AA III Eduardo Baguio, was able to plant 50 trees during the occasion. The participation of NNC 7 in ARENA 7 activities helped strengthen its ties with other government agencies in the region.

2012 Breatfeeding Month CelebrationCebu City – Owing to the success of 2011 Nutrition Month celebration which highlighted breastfeeding, SM City Cebu ties up with NNC 7 for the August 2012 Breastfeeding Month celebration.

The month of August is designated as the National Breastfeeding Awareness Month. It is the time of the year where Breastfeeding is being highlighted and given focus. This year’s theme “Protect Breastfeeding! (Understanding the past, planning the future)”, a relevant reference to the lessons learned and the achievements over the past 20 years on infant and young child feeding (IYCF), is a call to action to bridge existing gaps in policies and programs supporting breastfeeding and IYCF and is also a call to protect, promote and support exclusive breastfeeding for first six months with timely introduction of adequate, safe and properly fed complementary foods in addition to guidance on continued breastfeeding for two years or beyond.

Breastfeeding Photo Contest

- To further advocate for breastfeeding, the Media Information Network for Nutrition and Development 7 (MIND 7) and the National Nutrition Council 7 organized a Breastfeeding Photo Contest. The photos must depict the theme, "Isulong ang BREASTFEEDING: Tama, Sapat at EKsklusibo".

The winning photos were displayed at the lobby of Cebu Parklane International Hotel on August 5, 2011 during the 7th Nutrition Action Officers' Congress and 2011 Grand Nutrition Awards.

RK 98.5 FMZamboanguita, Negros Oriental - Radyo Kaigsoonan 98.5 MHz FM is the first Nutriskwela Community Radio Station to upgrade its transmitter to 1000 watts among the Nutriskwela Community Radio Stations Network nationwide.

Thanks to the effort and active advocacy of Station Manager Reynaldo Banua, the Community Radio Council and Mayor Kit Mark Adanza, Radyo Kaigsoonan was able to acquire 1000 watts transmitter from Congresswomen Jocelyn Lim Kai Chiong of the 1st District of Negros Oriental.

Full operation of the transmitter is held in abeyance pending the approval of the National Telecommunications Commission.
