Canlaon City – Nagpahigayon ang City Nutrition Committee (CNC) sa Canlaon City, Negros Oriental og Maternal Infant and Young Child Nutrition training sa ilang mga Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs) ug mga myembro sa women’s organization. Ang pagbansay gihimo niadtong 11-14 sa Oktubre tuig 2022 didto sa Poblacion, Canlaon City. Ang maong kalihokan gitambongan sa ilang baynte singko (25) ka mga BNSs ug dose (12) ka miyembro sa ilang women’s organization.
Usa sa mga nag-unang rason nganong nakahukom ang dakbayan sa Canlaon nga magpahigayon og pagbansay mao ang pagsangkap sa ilang mga BNS sa saktong kahibalo ug kahanas nga gikinahanglan aron mas maayo nilang mapatuman ang ilang gimbuhaton. Tungod sa mga epekto nga gidala sa pandemya sa COVID-19 sa komunidad, kini nga pagbansay nahimong usa ka kinahanglanon tungod kay ang pagkawalay kasiguruhan sa pagkaon nakaapekto sa kadaghanang mga pamilya sa komunidad.

Cebu City - For the last topic of NNC 7’s e-HISGOT (Educational Health and Nutrition Information-Sharing Geared TOwards DevelopmenT) program, the episode talked about the topic, Nutrition in the Holidays. The Christmas season has long been a tradition for Filipino families to get together. It is a time when families travel back home for reunions. Especially in Central Visayas, which was heavily affected by Typhoon Odette last year. Houses were dimly lit and some weren’t able to return home.
In the Philippines, the Christmas season has long begun since the start of the ‘Ber’ months. You can already hear Jose Mari Chan songs playing on the radio, singing our favorite yuletide songs. Siquijor Province – The Provincial Nutrition Committee of Siquijor staged its first-ever Joint Congress of Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs). The congress was held on 19 December 2022 at the Dugokanan sa Kapitolyo, Polangyuta, Siquijor.
The congress was attended by all 800 BHWs and all 134 BNSs province-wide. The newly elected Governor of the Province of Siquijor, Hon. Jake Vincent S. Villa graced the event.

Larena, Siquijor – During one of my monthly meetings of Barangay Nutrition Scholars in Larena, a certain Barangay Nutrition Scholar asked me, “Why women are prone to life threatening diseases such as cancer; heart disease; iodine deficiency disorder and even osteoporosis” and it also got me thinking--- WHY?
Women go through 4 major physical processes, namely menstruation period; pregnancy; childbirth, and lactation. These processes sacrifice a woman’s body as she goes through these changes, and it uses the body’s nutrient reserves that can greatly affect the overall health and wellbeing of women across the world. Major and crucial determinants of a woman’s health starting from pre-conception up to lactation period are nutritional lifestyle and habits. It has been said, and as cliché as it may seem, “Prevention Is better than cure”, below are guides for women to protect them against life threatening illnesses:
