Here are the steps to do prior to weighing and measuring a child and make sure these have complied.

2022 Dec25 SiquijorNiESiquijor, Siquijor – The Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) of Siquijor, Siquijor intensified their resiliency in managing emergencies and disasters by holding a training workshop on Nutrition in Emergency and Information Management for the members of the MNC. The activity was held on 12-16 December 2022 at the FIG Sunset View Resort, San Juan, Siquijor.

More than 20 participants joined the local government’s capacity-building initiative. Aside from the members of the MNC, the DRRM officer and personnel from the Rural Health Unit also participated in the 5-day training. The week-long event was also graced by the MNC Chair and Municipal Mayor Hon. Richard C. Quezon.

2022 Dec26 LNAP LaLibertadLa Libertad, Negros Oriental – The Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) of La Libertad through the Rural Health Unit assisted their Barangay Nutrition Committees to produce their Barangay Nutrition Action Plans (BNAPs) through the conduct of a workshop on Enhancing Nutrition Action Plans and Budget in the Barangay level. The planning workshop was held on 22-23 November and 01-02 December 2022 at the Lalimar Beach Resort, La Libertad, Negros Oriental. The two batches of BNC workshops were attended by 47 participants composed of Barangay Captains, Barangay Councilor on Health, Barangay Nutrition Action Officers, Barangay Treasurers, Rural Health Midwives, and Barangay Nutrition Scholars/Health Workers from the 29 barangays in the municipality.

Nutritionist-Dietitians II Chutsvieka May Pacatang, Jhianne Mae Nicole C. Tugaoen, Shaira Vita A. Calumpang, and Raya Faith A. Luce from DOH CVCHD/NNC 7 provided technical assistance, and served as resource speakers during the said workshop.

2022 Dec25 TKSPBohol Province – Implementers of the Tutok Kainan Supplementation Program (TKSP) of Bohol received food commodities particularly rice mongo or RIMO in preparation for the full implementation of the program in the province. Bohol is one of the target provinces in Central Visayas of the TKSP Phase 3. The third phase will be specifically executed in Alburquerque, Baclayon, Bien Unido, Buenavista, Corella, Danao, Garcia Hernandez, Lila, Panglao, Pilar, Sikatuna, and Tubigon.

Rice and mongo (mung bean) meals are combined to create RIMO Blend. It is prepared using the extrusion cooking method, and after adding previously boiled water, it is ready to eat. As a result, it has 110 kcal (energy) and 4 grams of protein per 30 grams, which is adequate to satisfy 10.8% of the calorie requirements and 21.4% of the necessary protein intake for children between the ages of 6 and 23 months.

2022 Dec25 BNSCongressMandaue City – The Federation of Barangay Nutrition Scholars Association of Region VII (FeBaNuSA 7, Inc) and the National Nutrition Council Region VII (NNC 7) resume the annual face-to-face regional congress with the biggest delegates since its organization in 2004.

An astounding total of 1,973 registered participants joined the 18th Regional Congress of Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs) on 03-04 November 2022 at the Mandaue City Sports Complex, Mandaue City, Cebu.
