Borbon, Cebu - The Borbon Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) started their Barangay First 1000 Days (BF1KD) monitoring in April of 2022. All 19 barangays of the said municipality were monitored by the team composed of the Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Dr. Corazon V. Dotillos, Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinator Ms. Marilou Autentico, NDP Focal Person Ms. Daisy Marie Mosqueda, and ND II/HRH-N assigned in the area Mr. Teresito M. Caayaman.
The monitoring team noted that the Barangay Nutrition Committees are continuing the promotion of exclusive breastfeeding, helping moms to achieve proper latching and any other activities related to the First 1000 days. The team also appreciated the practice of mothers supporting other mothers, especially those first-time moms in their journey to motherhood to improve the health and nutrition status of their children.

Samboan, Cebu - The Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) of this 5th class municipality launched their Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) in June 2022. The program will benefit all undernourished 6-59 months old children in the municipality with the objective of improving stunting and other forms of malnutrition experienced by these children. The LGU purchased easy to prepare fortified supplementary food commodities and distributed these to all undernourished young children of all 15 barangays of the municipality.

Basay, Negros Province - After 2-year hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic, with lockdowns lifted and most people in the community are now fully vaccinated, the members of the Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC_ of this agricultural town are very thrilled to launch this year’s Nutrition Month celebration.
This was one of the agreements reached by Basay MNC during its meeting held on 13 June 2022. Dr. Celine E. Belga, the new MHO/MNAO presented the Nutrition Month activities planned in detail since February 2022 together with PHN/MNPC Shellane J. Tubio, NDP point person for Nutrition Rogelene T. Espinosa with technical assistance from ND II Jhianne Mae Nicole C. Tugaoen of DOH CV CHD/NNC 7.

Borbon, Cebu. The Municipal Nutrition Committee of Borbon conducted a 3-day training on the Philippine Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition. Building the capacities to health and nutrition workers is one key ingredient in making frontliners for nutrition ready and adept to deliver quality health and nutrition services.
The PIMAM training was identified by the Borbon Municipal Nutrition Committee as they recognize the effects of COVID-19 to nutrition especially to children 0-59 months or <5 years of age. Through this training, nutrition workers were equipped on the management of acute malnutrition and contribute to the improvement of the survival rate of children in their community.
