ABL DagamiDAGAMI, Leyte – Provincial Nutrition Focal Point for Leyte, Ms. Annabel B. Limbagan, meets Camonoan Agrarian Reform Community Farmers Association (CARCFA) President Mr. Ruth M. Borja and Ms. Arian Joy C. Verona of DARMO Dagami to discuss TKDSP Program.

The said staff were given an overview of the program, list of commodities to supply, payment methods, and documentary requirements for the ARBO to comply.

Mr. Borja suggested that instead of five municipalities, they will also cover and include other neighboring municipalities. A total of seven (7) municipalities namely Dagami, Pastrana, Tabontabon, Sta. Fe, Julita, Jaro, and Tunga will be covered by CARCFA.

MOA signingTACLOBAN CITY - The National Nutrition Council 8 (NNC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Agrarian Reform Field Office 8 (DARFO8) for the implementation of the Tutok Kainan-Dietary Supplementation Program (TK-DSP).

RNPC Dr Catalino P. Dotollo, Jr. represented the NNC8 while Regional Director Robert Anthony P. Yu for the Department of Agrarian Reform.

The purpose of the MOU is to provide technical and logistical support to the targeted provinces and its component cities and municipalities for the Dietary Supplementation Program (DSP) or Tutok Kainan in Eastern Visayas.

The Tutok Kainan seeks to improve the quality and quantity of food and nutrient intakes of beneficiaries by providing nutritious food commodities to pregnant women for 90 days and to children 6-23 months old for 180 days. Tutok Kainan” Supplementation Program envisions to help prevent stunting among children up to 23 months old.

Activity4PALO, Leyte - As the first quarter of 2022 will end, the National Nutrition Council Region 8 has conducted three major regional activities.

These are the Pre-Deployment Orientation for Human Resources for Health- Nutritionist Dietitian Deployment Program (HRH-NDDP), Provincial/City/Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (P/C/MNAOs) meeting and District/City Nutrition Program Coordinators (P/CNPC) meeting.

RNPC Dr. Catalino P. Dotollo, Jr discussed the 2021 Regional Nutrition Situation, the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2017-2022 and the First 1000 Days Program and Tutok Kainan: Dietary Supplementation (TK-DSP). RNPC emphasizes the role of the Nutritionist Dietitians (NDs) in the achievement of PPAN 2017-2022, likewise in the First 1000 Days and the Tutok Kainan.

Close to 28 NDs to be assigned in the various provinces, cities, and municipalities in Eastern Visayas attended the pre-deployment orientation.

ABL buntisBAYBAY CITY - Around 60 pregnant women including teenage mothers are gathered at the City Gymnasium of Baybay today, March 30, 2022, for the Buntis Congress.

As part of the intensified effort on information dissemination, the local government unit of City of Baybay through its City Heath Unit (CHU) conceptualized its own initiative to gather all pregnant women including teenage mothers all over the city.

The objectives of the said congress are to educate pregnant women and expecting mothers on family planning, safe pregnancy, nutrition in pregnancy, and reduce child mortality under five (5) years old.
