MARCH 19, 2022 - PNFP Irene Dagami paid a courtesy call to Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer (MARPO) Jose Arropo.
PNFP Dagami introduced the Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program and scheduled a visit with two ARBOs, the Roxas II Farmer's Association represented by Mr. Wilfredo Senario and the Brgy. Panoypoy ARBO.
MARPO Arropo accompanied PNFP Dagami to Brgy. Panoypoy on the 19th of which 23 members and proxies attended. The Calbayog ARBOs are potential suppliers to island LGUs Tagapul-an and Sto. Nino, and Matuguinao.

MARCH 19, 2022 - Saint Bernard in Southern Leyte is one of the municipalities that was severely devastated by Typhoon Odette.
The municipality through their Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (MNAO l) organized the Municipal Nutrition Cluster for a Nutrition in Emergencies Training and Planning Workshop.
The MNAO invited pool of trainers from the National Nutrition Council 8 to conduct the training cum planning workshop. It was conducted on March 16-18, 2022 at the Tambis National High School in Saint Bernard, Southern, Leyte.
Nutrition in Emergencies (NIEM) response planning aims to contribute to the prevention of a deterioration in the nutritional status of Filipinos particularly the most vulnerable groups: infants, children, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, older persons, people with disabilities, and people living with debilitating conditions during emergencies and disasters.

PALO, Leyte - The National Nutrition Council, in its continuing effort to improve the LGU capacity to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate nutrition programs, is opening its e-learning course on Local Nutrition Program Management (NPM). The e-learning course will come in three batches on a flexible time and “at your phase learning”.
The first batch will be on April 1 to June 10, 2022, June 13, 2022-September 4, 2022 will be the date of the second batch and on September 12-November 30, 2022 will be the 3rd batch. Interested enrollees may join either on online or offline mode.
The e-learning on Nutrition Program Management aims to enhance the capacities of nutrition workers and stakeholders particularly in leading nutrition programs in their respective LGUs. The training will ensure that the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition is cascaded and transcribed in practical nutrition programs which are effectively managed at the local level.

ALBUERA, Leyte – This municipality is one of the areas for the Tutok Kainan Supplementation Program (TK-DSP) in Leyte with 83 beneficiaries of children 6-23months old who are nutritionally at-risk or undernourished.
The program aims to contribute to the prevention of stunting among children 0-23months old by improving the quality and quantity of food and nutrient intakes and utilization of related ECCD F1KD services among children 6-23months old in the target Tutok Kainan program areas>
Priority groups for the program are stunted 6-23months old and wasted 6-23months old children.
As part of the supplementation program, all fresh food items shall be procured preferably from the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs), Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) under the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP)>

MARCH 16, 2022 - The National Nutrition Council has begun its 3-day training workshop on Nutrition in Emergencies (NIE) for St. Bernard Municipal Nutrition Committee.
RNPC Catalino P. Dotollo Jr. led the day one of the NIE training on emphasizing the importance of integrating its Municipal Nutrition Action Plan and NIE plan in mother plans such as the Comprehensive Development Plan for fund allocation.
Present in the activity are representatives from the different local departments and offices led by MNAO Terre Virna Tanquezon who organized the training, from the RHU, MPDO, MAO, Municipal Civil Registrar, General Services Office, MENRO, PESO, Sanitary, MLGO as well as DepEd shool heads and teachers.

PALO, Leyte - Ready-to-Eat Therapeutic Food (RUTF) is a medicinal food that contains several nutrients that are very important in the recovery of severely and moderately wasted children from 6 to 59 months old. The guidelines in the distribution of RUTF is part of the Philippine Integrated Management of Malnutrition (PIMAM).
PNFP Irene Dagami conducted PIMAM the crash course in the Rural Health Unit staff of Tagapul-an Samar. There were 18 participants including the MNAO Beberlita Yranela, PHN Marilou Rosales, BNS President Jacklyn Allero, BHWs, NDPs, resident nurses, midwives, and medical technologists. Part of the crash course was a Micronutrient Supplementation Program Refresher.
PNFP Dagami also sat down with Tagapul-an BNS President Ms. Jackyln Allero to assist in the transfering of data to the 2022 e-OPT community tool.
