The 2021 Nutrition Month with the theme “Malnutrisyon Patuloy na Labanan, First 1000 Days Tutukan!” aims to focus on raising the awareness and mobilizing actions to intensify the first 1000 days of life.
To spread awareness on the characteristics of a good complementary food and the importance of proper infant and young child feeding (IYCF) during the first 1000 days of life, the Laking 1000 Best Complementary Food Recipe Contest: Mother-BNS Tandem has been launched by NNC MIMAROPA.

The Diabetes Awareness Week is celebrated every 4th week of July as proclaimed by the late President Ramos in the year 1993. The promotion of Diabetes Awareness Week aims to raise awareness on the disease and encourage Filipinos to have a healthy and active lifestyle in order to reduce its risks. The observance of Diabetes Awareness Week involves a wide range of activities all over the country.

The Department of Education MIMAROPA region recently conducted a virtual forum entitled “Oplan Kalusugan sa DepEd: Oplan Healthy MIMAROPANs: A Nutrition Month Culminating Activity” in line with their agency’s Nutrition Month celebration held last 26 July 2021 through Google Meet platform. The forum aimed to discuss good nutrition practices to all the regional office personnel, present the latest information on lifestyle diseases and its prevention, and to celebrate the Nutrition Month through a discussion of the 2021 NM talking points. The activity was attended by 88 participants from DepEd MIMAROPA regional office.

NNC MIMAROPA joins the 43rd observance of National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week this 17-23 July 2021 pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1870, s. 1979, as altered by Presidential Proclamation No. 361, s. 2000 and Administrative Order No. 35, s. 2002 with National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) as its lead agency.

With the current social media trends, NNC MIMAROPA would like to join the bandwagon through launching of First 1000 Days Tiktok Challenge which aims to highlight the importance of the first 1000 days of life.
The contest is open to all likers of NNC Official and NNC MIMAROPA Facebook pages regardless of place of residence. Provincial/City Nutrition Action Officers and/or District/City Nutrition Program Coordinators of the LGU may facilitate and guide interested participants upon the submission of entries.
