Quezon City – NPC Blanco calls for actions to address malnutrition problems in Palawan and Puerto Princesa City during the Online Dissemination Forum of the 2019 Expanded National Nutrition Survey (ENNS) on 27 October 2020.
Department of Science and Technology – Food and Nutrition Research Institute conducted the online forum on the Year 2 results of ENNS. The Expanded National Nutrition Survey is a 3-year rolling survey started in 2018. It is composed of 10 survey components – anthropometry, biochemical, dietary clinical and health, socio-economic, government program, food security, maternal, and infant and young child feeding. The activity aims to provide relevant data on health and nutrition situation at the provincial and city level that may serve as basis for crafting local nutrition action plans, programs, and policies.

ORIENTAL MINDORO – Sa halip na soda, inoobliga na ngayon ng pamahalaang panlalawigan ang pagsasama ng Calamansi Juice o by-products ng calamansi sa mga ihahain sa pagpupulong at pagtitipon lalo na sa mga pampamahalaang gawain.
Ito ay matapos ibaba ni Gobernador Bonz Dolor nitong Setyembre 15 ang Executive Order No. 49 series of 2020: “Mandating the Practice of Serving Calamnsi Juice or Any of its Variants for at least Fifty Percent of Refreshments in All Functions and Gatherings Initiated by the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro and Enjoining the Local Government Units Therein.”

Did you know that Occidental Mindoro is home of the largest salt producers in the country? The province’s topography, being surrounded by saltwater, proves this.
To ensure that salt producers and manufacturers in the province are provided with up-to-date relevant information on salt production and iodization, part of NNC’s tasks in overseeing the implementation of the ASIN Law in the region is to conduct regular monitoring activities to salt plant manufacturers and producers, together with the Regional Bantay Asin Task Force (RBATF) members.

Sa gitna ng crisis dahil sa pandemyang COVID-19, nabigyan ng tyansa ang mga nagdadalang tao mula sa Paluan, Occidental Mindoro na mabigyan ng kaalaman ukol sa kanilang ligtas na pagbubuntis.
Ginanap noong ika-18 ng Setyembre 2020 ang ‘Buntis Congress’ sa Paluan Central School, Paluan, Occidental Mindoro, na dinaluhan ng 20 indibidwal. Ito ay isinagawa ng Paluan Rural Health Unit sa pamumuno ni Dra. Ruth Alma Ramos.

Did you know that three billion people or 40% of the world’s population do not have access to handwashing facilities and 75% of them belongs to the world’s poorest countries? This situation puts these individuals at risk of diseases especially now that we are facing a pandemic.
With the theme “Hand Hygiene for All,” The Global Handwashing Day was celebrated on October 15 to promote universal access to hand hygiene, making it a reality for everyone especially in homes, schools, health care facilities and public spaces. The theme was aligned with the Hand Hygiene for All Initiative of World Health Organization and UNICEF, which aims to support the most vulnerable communities –children and families living in informal settlements, migrant and refugee camps, or in areas of active conflict.
