SOCCSKSARGEN - LGU participants of the eLearning course on Nutrition in Emergencies and Information Management (NiE-IM) were recognized as they completed their final live session last 14 December 2020 via online video conference covering the two (2) batches.
The regional training was facilitated by NNC Regional Staff with Resource Persons from DSWD and DOH. The course used a blended learning approach. Online video conference was done for live open forums while offline sessions were for pre-recorded lectures from various speakers from NNC, DOH, and UNICEF uploaded thru Google classroom. Classes ran for 12 days within 8 weeks which were held every Tuesday and Thursday for Batch 1 and Wednesday and Friday for Batch 2.

SOCCSKSARGEN—Headed by National Nutrition Council XII, the regionwide 2020 Online Search for Best Vegetable garden had finally been concluded. With the seeds provided by the Department of Agriculture XII, the contest aims to establish vegetable gardens and promote vegetable gardening to encourage food security, increase food supply and boost awareness among the government workers and the community on the significance of growing vegetables that is safe, nutritious, and economical especially during the pandemic crisis while utilizing their backyards/respective office premises.

Headstrong towards his commitment to elevate the nutrition status of Tacurongnons, City Mayor Angelo Montilla discussed with the City Nutrition Council (CNC) the milestones reached by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tacurong in addressing the prevalent malnutrition and health issues in the city on a meeting sited at the Tacurong City Cultural and Sports Center, October 28, 2020.
Mayor Montilla vowed in December of last year to vacate his office if he fails in ceasing malnutrition in the city. With Mayor Montilla’s relentless effort and the unwavering support of the academe and agencies involved, the CNC achieved such quite a feat in attaining this goal in a short span of time.

SOCCSKSARGEN---The National Nutrition Council XII brings Nutrition School on-the-air online thru the 10 Kumainments Nutrition e-school. With the limited mobility due to the on-going quarantine health protocols, NNC XII ensures that the proper information of good nutrition is unhampered especially amidst the pandemic crisis.
Just like the aims of the Nutrition school-on-the-air, this initiative is developed to create awareness to the general public to adopt good nutrition practices utilizing the online platform through ZOOM application. This will comprise 12 sessions which will cover the Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos or also known as the 10 Kumainments.

SOCCSKSARGEN—The National Nutrition Council Region XII jumpstarts Nutrition in Emergencies-Information Management blended learning course for two batches last October 20-21, 2020, with 49 and 40 participants for Batches 1 and 2 respectively in its first live online session. The participants were composed of Nutrition Action Officers, Nutrition Staff/Nutritionist-Dietitians and representatives from the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Social Welfare and Development Office, Agriculture office and other members from their respective Local Nutrition Committees.
Batch 1 consists of 10 LGUs coming from: Sarangani Province including municipalities of Malungon and Alabel, Tupi from South Cotabato Province, Libungan, Pigcawayan and Midsayap from Cotabato Province, two municipalities from Sultan Kudarat Province: Kalamansig and Esperanza, and Koranadal City. Meanwhile, Batch 2 includes 10 LGUs, to wit: Cotabato Province and its three (3) municipalities, Tulunan, Arakan, Makilala; South Cotabato province and three of its municipalities from Tampakan, Polomolok, Sto. Niño and two municipalities from Sultan Kudarat Province, Lutayan and Sen. Ninoy Aquino.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought an immense disturbance to humanity. People’s movement became limited and access to basic and essential services is interrupted. It brought an immeasurable impact on the welfare and protection especially to children causing trauma which affect their rights to survive and participate safely and fully.
National Children’s Month is an activity annually conducted every month of November by virtue of Republic Act No. 10661 to commemorate the rights of children. This is also in observance to the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by the United Nations General Assembly on November 20, 1989. This year’s celebration marks the 28th anniversary that focused on Upholding Children’s Rights during the Pandemic like Covid-19, with the theme “Sama-samang Itaguyod ang Karapatan ng Bawat Bata sa Panahon ng Pandemya!”
