HOT RADYO KADULANGANKALAMANSIG, SULTAN KUDARAT-   The first ever community radio station in Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat had finally been realized as Nutriskwela Radyo Kadulangan 92.1 FM goes on air in the municipality after the three-day Hands-on Training for Community Radio Broadcasting held last June 10-12, 2019. The said training was attended by 35 participants from the different sectors of Kalamansig headed by   Hon. Ronan Eugene Garcia, the elected Community Radio Council Chair.


The Training team was a collaboration between National Nutrition Council, represented by NO II Danah Pearl Aurel and MQ Mediazone Productions composed by prominent media personalities in the broadcast industry namely, Ms. Mackay Quadra, Managing Director of MQ Mediazone Production, Mr. Mario C. Garcia, a Senior Broadcaster/Trainer, Mr. Kiko Flores, Project Leader/DZBB GMA7 Broadcaster and Mr. Andy Vital, former DZRH Broadcaster/Trainer.  

RIAC JUNE FINAL The Regional Inter-Agency Committee (RIAC) for IP Health conducted an IP community visit at Brgy. Titulok, Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat last June 13-14, 2019.
The visit served as an opportunity to engage with the community leaders, and hear their stories on accessing health and social services which can lead to developing key course of action among Indigenous Cultural Communities/ Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) in the region.
Chieftains and the different tribal council of the different tribal groups were all gathered on the first day for the consultative meeting. Participating agencies who joined the RIAC visit aside from NNC were DOH, NCIP, DSWD, PSA, PhilHealth and TESDA.

asd socot KORONADAL CITY–   The national evaluating team wrapped up the annual evaluation conducted last April 1-5, 2019 in South Cotabato, as the province bids for the National Honor Award.
Gov. Daisy Avance-Fuentes, who attended the feedbacking activity despite the local election campaign, said the suggestions were welcome innovations for fourth-time Galing Pook Awardee.
“The annual evaluation for any of the programs of the government serve as a wake-up call for us to evaluate and assess if we were in the right track in governing our province,” Fuentes said during the feedbacking activity with the national evaluators.

RNET primes for 2019 MELLPI ProKORONADAL CITY-   The Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) for Nutrition convened for pre-monitoring and evaluation meeting on 24th of April at NNC XII Office, Koronadal City attended by eight (8) representatives from various agencies (DA, DILG, DSWD, NCIP, NEDA, PopCom and Save the Children).

In her welcome message, NPC Latonio emphasized that the meeting aims to finalize the MELLPI Pro schedules and capacitate and prepare the RNET members for the upcoming monitoring and evaluation. The team is set to assess the Barangay Nutrition Scholars’ 2018 performance in the implementation of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) and in the service delivery at the local level from May to June 2019. Meanwhile, evaluation period for the LGUs will start on the month of August.

 As endorsed by the NNC Technical committee, the team will now utilize the new tool, otherwise known as MELLPI Pro (Updated Nutrition Monitoring and Evaluation Protocol). The new tool will cover two parts: (1) an institutional component which evaluates various organizational attributes pertaining to nutrition governance in local governance units and the (2) worker component which evaluates management performance of frontline nutrition staff at the local level.

MELLPI PRO ARTICLEThe National Nutrition Council XII is almost on its way towards full dissemination in the region on the new monitoring and evaluation tool----Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation Protocol or dubbed as MELLPI Pro. The updated system replaces the old MELLPI tool to be used in appraising the progress of the implementation of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) at the local level.

The first batch of the training was conducted last March 4-5, 2019 at Cinco Niñas, Koronadal City attended by 12 participants coming from the Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Team and nutrition workers from Sarangani Province. Batches 2 and 3 were conducted subsequently on March 6-7 and on March 11-12 at Sun City Suites, General Santos City attended by 15 and 14 participants respectively. Batch 2 participants were the nutrition workers from the cities of Tacurong, Koronadal and Gen. Santos and from the South Cotabato Province together with the nutrition staff from its four (4) municipalities. Whereas, batch 3 was participated by Kidapawan City and 10 municipalities of Cotabato Province.

riac2 In pursuant to the Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2013-01 dated April 19, 2013 entitled, “Guidelines on the Delivery of Basic Health Services for Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous People” issued by the Department of Health (DOH), National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Regional Inter-Agency Committee (RIAC) conducted its first quarter IP Caravan for 2019 in collaboration with the DOH Usapang Buntis Kasama si Tatay Forum last April 16, 2019 at Brgy. Liliongan, Carmen, Cotabato.
Almost 400 constituents of Barangay Liliongan and nearby barangays particularly the Aromanan-Manobo tribe availed the free services offered by various agencies of the RIAC team. Among the participating agencies were DOH, NCIP, DepEd, DILG, DSWD, PhilHealth, PSA, NNC and PopCom.
Offered services ranged from medical check-up, dental services, blood typing and hemoglobin testing, information dissemination and consultation on PHIC benefits, birth registration and tribal marriage consultation.
The caravan also offered nutrition, health and family planning counselling services among adolescents, pregnant and lactating mothers in partnership with the National Nutrition Council represented by NO I Laurito and Commission on Population. NNC XII distributed 100pcs of 10 kumainments bread tablet to the community.
