Koronadal City- National Nutrition Council XII in cooperation with its partner, Notre Dame Broadcasting Corp., (NDBC) through its radio stations DXOM FM/Radyo Bida Koronadal and DXND-AM Kidapawan, represented by its station manager and Nutrition in Development Organization of Social Educators (NutriI-DOSE), SOCCSKSARGEN President Ms. Agnes Myra Piñol conferred and accepted the “Nutrition School on- the- Air” radio program which aims to increase awareness of every individual especially the listeners about proper nutrition.
The said campaign is joined by listeners of SOCCSKSARGEN even reaching as far as Bukidnon. The program started last 04-30 December 2015 including pre-plugging using the NSOA module provided by NNC.
The radio jocks and news anchors were very eager/excited to disseminate the information and persuaded the listeners to enroll in the campaign, and it’s all worth the effort because the responses of the listeners were indeed overwhelming. DXOM FM/Radyo Bida Koronadal has 53 enrollees while DXND AM Kidapawan has 37 enrollees. Despite the program has started already, many listeners still want to join to become an “official enrollee” which simply shows that the program caught the interests of its listeners. Every after the session, a five item quiz is given to test if the students learned something out of the topic, and the result is indeed great because most of participants got a high score.
The campaign gave an enriching experience not only to the students but also to the radio jocks and news anchors who handles the Nutrition School On-The-Air program. The most exciting part of this program is that, once they completed the ten sessions, a graduation and awarding ceremony shall be held and the top ten students with high scores shall be recognized and be given a Certificate of Completion and token as a reward for their active participation.
The graduation and awarding ceremony shall be held on 04 March 2016 for enrollees of Koronadal City and 05 March 2016 for Kidapawan City.
