FGD on PMNP

A two-part virtual Focus Group Discussion (FGD), for KUMAIN-PMNP Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Program (PMNP) was held on April 15, 2021. The FGD was coordinated by NNC Regional Office VI, and facilitated by Ms. Fritzie P. Bruce, Nutrition Officer II of NNC Central Office- Nutrition Policy and Planning Division. The Objectives of the FGD, are as follows: 1.) Assess the health and nutrition situation of the community. 2.) Gather inputs and suggestions from the community nutrition implementers.

Meeting with DAR RVI

NNC RVI met with DAR Region VI on 14 April 2021 via zoom to discuss important matters relative to the implementation of the Tutok Kainan Supplementation Program in the Province of Negros Occidental. The finalization of MOU between DAR and NNC, as well as the Marketing Agreements with the ARBOs was discussed. Present during the meeting is RNPC Reginaldo T. Guillen, NO III Sheryl C. Sedantes, ECCD-F1K PNC of Negros Occidental Joyce Espanola, and ARPO II Arni Sumaylo of DAR RVI.

An Online Review of Draft Narrative on Compendium of Local Ordinance on Nutrition held March 5, 2021, via Zoom. The Compendium National Planning Team represented by Dr. Ces Adorna and Andre Flores of Alcanz International LLC, NOIII / OIC Sheryl C. Sedantes with NNC RVI Staff gathered together with the Local Government Unit of Valderrama, Antique headed by Mayor Mary Joyce M. Roquero as the author of the Ordinance to discuss and review the Municipal Ordinance No. 04 S. 2018 “An Ordinance Institutionalizing the Mother to Mother Support, Group (Barangay F1KD) and Nutrition Specific Intervention for Pregnant Women, Lactating Mother and Children 0-23 months during the First 1000 Days (F1KD) and appropriating funds Thereof”. MNAO Edna B. Martinez, SB Member Hon. Luisito Bayog, and MHO Dr. Helen M. Lacson were also present during the online review.

1st Quarter ECCD F1K Virtual Meeting

The 1st Quarter Early Childhood Care Development – First 1,000 Days (ECCD-F1K) program Virtual Meeting conducted via Zoom was presided over by newly appointed Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Reginaldo T. Guillen on March 24, 2021. The meeting was attended by 19 participants composed of Provincial/City/Municipal Nutrition Action Officers (P/C/MNAOs) and District/City/Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinators (D/C/MNPCs) of the Local Government Units of Passi City, Concepcion, Pototan, Tigbauan from Iloilo and Cadiz City, La Carlota City, San Carlos City, Binalbagan, Hinoba-an from Negros Occidental.

Orientation Briefing

In preparation for the commence of the Tutok Kainan Supplementation Program in Negros Occidental, a Brief Orientation on the Reporting System was conducted on March 4, 2021, via Zoom. The participants are the Focal Persons in the City/Municipal and Barangay covered areas. Monitoring of Receipt and Distribution of commodities, Nutrition Assessment, Feedback, Summary of Reports, Consent/Waiver Form, Daily Inventory of Commodities, and DSP Form were discussed to brief and provide information to the focal persons. The meeting concluded with agreements on the final briefing that will be conducted at least three (3) days before the start of Tutok Kainan.

Brief Meeting on Community Food Production for TKSP

To ensure that there is still food security among the families of the nutritionally at-risk pregnant women targeted for the Tutok Kainan Supplementation Program in Negros Occidental. A Brief Meeting with the City and Municipal Agriculturist was conducted last March 5, 2021, via Google Meet. The activity was lead by NNC Region VI presided by Nutrition Officer III and Officer-In-Charge Ms. Sheryl C. Sedantes. She presented and discussed what is Tutok Kainan Supplementation Program and encouraged the City/Municipal Agriculturists to provide seeds and seedlings and other planting materials to the families of the NAR PW. She emphasized the importance of a community or backyard garden as one of the food sources of the family, especially during this COVID-19 pandemic.
