Antequera, Bohol – The Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) of this basket capital of Bohol purchased height boards and weighing scales for all its elementary schools in the municipality. This is to ensure the collection of quality nutrition data which will serve as the basis for program planning and prioritization of its program beneficiaries.
MNC Chairman and Municipal Mayor Hon. Jose Mario Pahang together with MNAO Mrs. Tarcisia R. Baluca turned over the 17 anthropometric tools to the school heads of all public elementary schools of the municipality on 06 February 2023 after the flag raising ceremony held at the Antequera Municipal Hall Grounds.

This time, we tackle the uses of the eOPT tool and how it can be maximized in data validation, review, analysis, and presentation. Like the previous installment, we are once again listing several important factors to consider in OPT Plus reporting as follows:
First, the eOPT tool is useful in that it can identify significant discrepancies in the data set encoded, and make sure to review said discrepancies before printing out the report.

Cebu City - Most often, neuropathy is the cause of burning feet syndrome. Damaged nerve fibers are more likely to become overactive and misfire. The damaged nerves send pain signals to the brain even though there is no wound.
In most people with neuropathy, the leg nerves become damaged first. These people often have tingling and numbness in their feet as well. Many people complain that their feet are overly sensitive to touch (hyperesthesia) and can have varying degrees of burning pain. It can range from mild to disabling.

Bohol Province – In compliance with the agreement made during the Tutok Kainan Supplementation Program (TKSP) meeting organized by NNC 7 with participating LGUs held on 8 February 2023, the Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) of Alburquerque launched the TKSP on 16 February 2023 simultaneously with the other LGUs in Central Visayas.
Prior to the commencement of the program, the MNC through MNAO Ma. Gemmaliza Bongais reoriented the members of the Barangay Nutrition Committees and other program implementers on the needed actions to be taken before, during and after the program implementation. She also reminded the TKSP focal persons in the barangays on their roles and responsibilities as well as the MNC and BNC to make ensure that the launch and the program will be successful. The reorientation session was held on 14 February 2023 at the rural health unit of the municipality attended by 12 participants.

Cebu City – Anthropometric measurement (taking of height/length and weight) is not the end of the famous annual Operation Timbang (OPT) Plus. In fact, it is only a part of one of the most important nutrition surveillance activities at the local level.
With the type and extent of nutrition interventions for the community and for specific individuals largely dependent on the results of OPT Plus, data processing and information management must be given utmost care to ensure the efficient use of resources.
