Mabinay, Negros Oriental – The National Nutrition Council Region VII thru DMO II Kristal Katrina Bacay randomly monitored the program implementation of the Tutok Kainan Supplementation Program (TKSP) in Negros Oriental. She visited Barangay Abis, Mabinay on 2 March 2023. Central Visayas simultaneously launched the TKSP Phases 3 and 4 on 16 February 2023.
DMO II Bacay, accompanied by CNPC Florafe B. Baena of Mabinay and ND II Raya Faith A. Luce of DOH CV CHD/NNC 7 met with RHM Melca Sablaon and BNS Rhea S. Mansera, who oversee the TKSP implementation in Barangay Abis, Mabinay. With thirty-five (35) 6-23 months of children beneficiaries, the barangay opted for purok-based cluster feeding, to provide supplemental feeding nearest to the beneficiaries’ households.

Cebu City – The National Nutrition Council Region VII caps the second month of the year with the conduct of the 2023 Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Pro orientation on 28 February 2023, via zoom conference call.
The orientation which was attended by 29 members of the regional nutrition evaluation team (RNET) and alternate representatives from 16 RNC member agencies is part of the preparatory activities of the region prior to the actual conduct of the MELLPI Pro in March this year.

Cebu City – The National Nutrition Council VII welcomed the 10 new Human Resources for Health for Nutrition (HRH-N) for the calendar year 2023. During the 3rd monthly meeting of the HRH-N, the newly hired Nutritionist – Dietitians (NDs) were introduced to the other earlier deployed NDs in the different provinces of the region.
The Department of Health (DOH) under the National Health Workforce Support System (NHWSS) deploys the NDs to help local government units in catalyzing and scaling up their local nutrition programs. This newly hired nutrition squad will be detailed to the different priority municipalities in the region within this month.
