The NCR Regional Office of the National Nutrition Council and the Federation of Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) in NCR conducted a 1 ½ - day joint Team Building activity on 4-5 March 2010 at Villa Agoncillo Resort, Barangay Pansol Calamba City.
The activity aimed to strengthen unity and foster camaraderie among the participants; develop among the participants a sense of team rapport; dissolve group barriers and create a foundation for good team work; and enable the officers and board members of the BNS Federation to draw up a plan of action for 2010-2011
It was attended by the NNC-NCR family and members of the BNS Federation in NCR.

The MDG-F 2030 held an advocay run and walk on February 4, 2012 at the SM Mall of Asia. The event aimed to increase awareness and to solicit support from the people to promote breastfeeding and appropriate complementary feeding toward improved nutrition of infants and young children.
More than 500 breastfeeding support group members, barangay nutrition scholars, nutritionist-dietitians, IYCF program coordinators, and health and nutrition workers from all over Metro Manila together with the NNC-NCR staff participated in the event and pledged to continue promoting, supporting and protecting breastfeeding in their respective communities. The participants were given advocacy t-shirt and souvenir photo from the CFSN's photo booth.

“Timbang iwasto sa tamang nutrisyon at ehersisyo!” is the theme for the 41st Nutrition Month which speaks of achieving a healthy body weight through proper nutrition and exercise. That is why the Federation of Barangay Nutrition Scholars of NCR, Inc. in partnership with the National Nutrition Council – NCR and in cooperation with the City Government of Valenzuela, organized an activity engaging all the Barangay Nutrition Scholarsof NCR entitled, “BNS, Hataw Na!” Dancercise, promoting Zumba as one of the activities to achieve a healthy body weight. This was conducted at the Valenzuela City Astrodome on July 16, 2015.

The National Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (NNAC) was held on 04 November 2010 at the Reception Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center. The NNAC was done once a year to recognize the country’s “best of the best” in nutrition program implementation. Eighteen (18) awardees were emerged from a nationwide selection process. One of the awardees is Taguig City.
Challenged with ensuring food supply and proper nutrition for its populace, Taguig pursues a number of programs including the:
- Establishment of home-yard vegetable gardening
- Global Kusina Program
- Conduct of Pabasa sa Nutrition in ten barangays
- Establishment of breastfeeding station
- Taguig City claims to its first CROWN award
- Airing of nutrition and health messages, through DWFT-Taguig Radio Station manned by Mr. Jun "Dr. Love" Banaag
The City lays its first claim to its first CROWN Award and received a cash prize of 250,000 and a CROWN trophy.

To continually improve the eating habits and behaviors of Filipinos to prevent malnutrition and diet-related non-communicable diseases, the National Nutrition Council – National Capital Region (NNC-NCR) initiated the campaign on the Ten Kumainments through a regional simultaneous promotional event on July 24, 2015 from 9:00 to 11:00 in the morning. All LGUs in Metro Manila, except Malabon City, participated in the event.
In every LGU, 100 or more Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) mothers attended the event conducted by the local nutrition committee. Greater awareness on the Ten Kumainments was achieved through an audio-visual presentation, distribution of flyers and fans and nutri-games. Another highlight of the event was the turn-over of Mang Moi standee to each of the LGUs in the region.

The officers and board members of the Regional Federation of Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) of NCR had their Annual Study Tour and Team Building with the theme “Kapit-Bisig Para sa Tagumpay” in Baguio City from June 25 to 28, 2013. The group was warmly welcomed and presented with the key to Baguio City by Executive Assistant to the Mayor Mr. Jose Atanacio and District Nutrition Program Coordinator Joel B. Junsay.
The group visited Barangay City Camp Proper where they learned a lot from Ms. Monica N. Sicat, 1st Runner-up 2011 National Outstanding BNS as well as from the Barangay Nutrition Council (BNC) headed by Brgy. Chairperson Aurora G. Abellera. The BNSs interviewed OBNS Sicat and the members of the BNC and learned from their experiences on how their Barangay fought against malnutrition. OBNS Sicat emphasized the importance of the support and participation of the entire BNC in attaining their goal of having a “malnutrition-free” barangay.
