The colostrum takes on greater value in the time of pandemic where every mother’s paramount goal is achieving the fullest potential for a baby’s natural health and immunity.
However, some mothers still have difficulty differentiating colostrum and breastmilk and are surprised to see a yellow milky fluid rather than white milk during the first five (5) days after a child’s birth. The yellow milky fluid or first milk is called “colostrum” (in left of left side photo on top).

To achieve quality assessment of nutrition implementation in LGUs in Region IV-A, NNC-CaLaBaRZon and the RNET-CaLaBaRZon vigilantly discussed and reviewed the MELLPI Pro tools during the “Mock MELLPI Pro Evaluation” meeting last August 9.
The team is now in full force and the RNET for Local Nutrition Focal Points (LNFPs) nutrition workers in CaLaBaRZon have started their preparations.

Sa masayang pagdiriwang ng NNC Calabarzon “Tiktok Challenge” sa “Buwan ng Nutrisyon” noong Hulyo, naipakita ng 13 kalahok ang tunay na kahulugan at kahalagahan ng ”First 1000 Days” o F1K gamit ang “Laking 1000 Jingle” at sa pamamagitan ng kanilang mga nakakahangang talento sa pagsayaw at pag-indak.
Mga Kampeon. Ang nanguna at nagwagi sa patimpalak ay ang City Nutrition Office ng City of Sta. Rosa, Laguna na umabot sa 1,400 reactions sa NNC-Calabarzon Facebook Page at nagkamit ng P10,000.

During the finalization of the “Local Media Plan for 2021” in the recent 2nd CNN-4-A online meeting -- it was agreed that the use of promotional tools with media personalities and endorsers will help boost greater nutrition awareness among the citizenry in the region.
Thus, part of the nutrition advocacies will feature more influential videos on the official Facebook page and website of NNC-Calabarzon. It will also further enhance the promotion of other nutrition-related activities such as the “Calabarzon TikTok Challenge” and the “Calabarzon Photography Contest.”

Sa tulong ng NNC Calabarzon, matagumpay na nakatanggap ng sertipiko ng eligibility mula Civil Service Commission (CSC) si Ms. Maria Cecilia Exconde -- dating Barangay Nurtrition Scholar (BNS) ng San Pablo City at isa sa mga kauna-unahang BNS sa syudad na nahandugan ng nasabing sertipiko.
Sa kasalukuyan, si Ms. Exconde ay nagtratrabaho sa City Population Office or POPCOM bilang Job Order at pinoproseso ang kanyang pagka-regular sa trabaho. Malaki ang pasasalamat niya sa NNC Calabarzon na sumuporta sa kanya sa pag-aasikaso ng kanyang eligibility. Magagamit niya ang natanggap na sertipiko upang ma regular sa trabaho.
